SUBLIME CADAVERIC DECOMPOSITION 8/2001 1.S.C.D. is being hailed as one of the best gore grind bands out now. How does that make you feel? How did the band come to be born? Seb: Hi friend, sorry for my fucking delay friend, I'm really busy in this time! (Don't be sorry! I understand! -Lee) I'm seb, (vocals) of S.C.D. We just play the music we like as best as we can but it's a real pleasure to see the amazing reaction everywhere. We never think about it when we create an new album but we are eternally grateful to all the guys who support our band since the beginning. Our band was brought forth with the idea to participate in the creation of the more brutal extremes music. Each members was influenced by the death, grind, crust and black metal scenes, create in the beginning of the eighties.The principal creation born since the creation of the band in the end of 1996 was to put in a concrete form a personal expression as pure, gory and violent as it can be.This direction was never left behind and stay the more characteristic choice of S.C.D. Each musical conventions traditionally  admit and implicitly accept have been adapted to this goal. Titles, melodic parts, solo or lyrics were purged or simply deleted. If they're not really useful to the way we have chose, we don't use it. Beyond individual affinities of each one, the multiple experiences of the band are now, our real motivation. Each new album or gig is a supplementary step to correct the mistakes that separate us to our bloody target. A split tape product in Juliet 1997 S.C.D. / Infected Pussy, have concretized the first months of the band's life. It have provoked a multiplication of gigs and festivals, and the conquest of the more extreme underground public. The split cd S.C.D. / ROT made in august 1998 on the French label Bones Brigade have consolidate this foundation and permit us to find the support of a less confidential press and audience. More than two years have separate this originally step to the coming out of our full length cd in March 2001.During this time the band have accumulate gigs and festivals and digest a lot of experiences to find his real identity. A split 7" S.C.D. / Lymphatic Phlegm, manufactured in February 2001 for censorshit troubles but recording in March 2000, stay an intermediary stage in the evolution of the band. This cd made in March 2001 have concretized the effort of two years of evolution, it have give us more important opportunities, new fans and becoming a new birth for our future development. 2. The French scene has a real hot spot for true grind. What are some bands there you'd recommend? Have you heard PORNOCRATE yet? Seb: Our scene is young but grow up every fucking days and I'm happy to see this amazing evolution. There are a lot of great new grind bands everywhere in our country. I think about a lot of friends in GRONIBARD, INNER HATE, IMPERIAL SODOMY, DESECRATOR, M.D.U., VORACIOUS GANGRENE, BLOCK HEADS, ORGAN HARVEST, STRANGULATION, INHUMATE, K-LOMNY, INFECTED PUSSY, SOLDEBLEURKTAL, - & for sure PORNOCRATE! 3. Was the song "stop salad vivisection now" made to mock all of those stupid pro-vegetarian songs? Do you think that some people take grind too seriously when they attack bands for having gore/porn themes when it's merely for fun and is harming nobody? Seb: It's true we have use funny titles in the split cd with ROT. It was used to break a custom of repetitive "horrific" or supposed "intelligent" titles and lyrics.But it was maybe a mistake cause it was not representative o our music. It was not useful, so it was probably wrong. In an others part, it's just our choice and we have nothing to learn to bands who have chose an other way. We respect them & I think it's better to find a lot of different attitudes. Our idea now is to only keep the necessary main point characteristic of our state of mind. I think you have in our last cd all you need - and nothing more. 4. Ok, I'm not sure if I'm talking to Seb but I have to say that S.C.D.'s logo and cover artwork is incredible! What themes would you say revolve around S.C.D.'s image and what aspects have in some way inspired the band for such dark and macabre images? Movies? Books? Reality? Seb: Yes I'm Seb, & thanxx a lot friend. (You're welcome! Readers see my review for more insight. -Lee) I draw all cover artwork myself and every time have a real photographic quality, I must find inspiration and documentation in real life. I can't have real model and I must have real death pictures to know exactly what bowels or head explode looks like. I have collected a lot of real death of porno pictures. I use it like a library. Sometime when I start drawing I remember an old picture I have see and I use it like a model to my composition. When I draw a disemboweling I can use 1 or 20 pictures like models. I use colored pencils, ink and painting to realize the artwork part and all cover design is make on computer by all guys of S.C.D. 5. The band's style is in the most brutal and sick, straight forward grind style, and reminds me of DEAD INFECTION's "a chapter of accidents". Did they inspire you at all? What are your favorite bands? Seb: Every guys of our band have his favorite bands. Personally I worship TERRORIZER, GUT, DEAD INFECTION, MORTICIAN, REGURGITATE, DISRUPT, CARCASS, DENACK...............................! For sure all of these bands and others have inspired us and stay real masterpieces! 6. If you could choose what bands to tour with which would they be and where would you want to travel to spread your grind? Seb: All the bands named before & to play everywhere on the earth!!!! It's my dream guy. (Mine too! -Lee) 7. Describe the perfect woman. Seb: Probably the next one! I'm not looking for perfection but difference, so I can't give you a precise definition. Every woman are a kind of perfection - but I don't like all of these perfection! 8. How is life in France? Seb: Not so bad, but it's the same thing every where, most of time you loose your life in stupid jobs to have just a few fun minutes by day. We have a controlled liberty. (Yeah, fuck the corporate machine, I ain't yo bitch! -Lee) 9. What are some of your favorite movies? Seb: Kinky Farmgirls, massive oral orgasms, hidden shower cam, 1001 cumshots, deepthroat, school girls special... 10. What does S.C.D. have planned for the future? Seb: S.C.D. is born in 1996, 5 years ago. We are a young band & we have just find our identity. Be sure it's just the beginning of our way.
