PLASMA 1. Greetings Marcus, tell us about your nasty acts and what inspired you to start a gore band? Marcus: Hi Lee and all the other sickos out there, I'm Marcus from Afterblast/Plasma and some other bands which are still to cum. We're only five till seven people here doing five till seven bands. Frankfurt is musickwise the worsed city in Germoney. For such a great city the real scene is very small. I started a goreband because I love downpitched voices, gorepics etc. so it was clear to do a goreband. Also I want to make musick which will please me 100% and no one else as Yourself can do this. All in all we have a lot of great fun together and this is the most important reason I think. 2. What are your favorite bands and which ones do you feel had an impression on your acts? Marcus: Oh, my faves, there are a lot for example Suffocation, Devourment, Exulceration, Carcass, Gut, Dead Infection, Last Days Of Humanity, Necrony, Carnage, Neuropathia, Mucupurulent, Cock And Ball Torture, Malignant Tumour, Regurgitate, Damnable, Mortician, Haemorrhage, Excruciating Pain and tons more. This are the ones that cums at first in my mind, but I forgot the most for sure. Every band that pleased me influenced me in some way. I think the musick plays a great role why I'm this kind of person today. 3. What is the difference between AFTERBLAST and PLASMA? What releases do you have? Marcus: The main difference is Afterblast is a real band and Plasma is a one man band. But the musick is quite similar I think 'cause I made the Plasma tape as our drummer left Afterblast. I had some songs left so I decided to a solo thing. With Afterblast we recorded the "Reh 03/98" tape which was never really released and with a new drummer we did the "Rectal Desaster" tape. With Plasma I only did the "Molodrous Inquest" tape 'till now. 4. How is life in Germany? What are your weekends like? Marcus: I think the life here doesn't differs much from the life in other industrial states. It's allways the same shit everywhere. But I have the luck that I live very pleasant. It could be much more worse. I'm still studying (sleeping till midday), rehearsing, meeting friends or playing Quake 3, Blood 2, Kingpin etc. on my computer. On the weekends we're often entering Discos for drinking, dancing and to find a chick that fits to me. But in fact drinking is the most important point we're doing on our weekends, it doesn't matters where. 5. What are your favorite gore movies? What kind of image would you way is subject in your bands? Marcus: I only know a few Goremovies, but I like Premutos, Cannibal Ferox, The Romero Zombie movies, Absurd, Evil Dead, Braindead etc, also The Omen Trilogy, Alien, Conan and the old movies like Tarantula, King Kong, Formiclua etc very much. Musickwise I think we have no special image. I enjoy to watch all this sick gorepics and to do splatter or pathologystic texts. This all together, movies, computergames, pictures, and the musick of course is our image. It's not only splatter or only pathology, it depends on my temper, but it is gore at all. I personally don't want to do pure pornogrind, but I listen to that, too. 6. Describe the perfect woman. Marcus: She must look good, drink, have a driverlicense (to drive my drunken carcass home when I'm finished), enjoy abnormal sexual activities (every time and everywhere), listen to the musick I like (better she plays in a band), be in my age, be rich (to forget all this fuckin' money problems), be a nice person of course, be powerfull and a little bit dominant, faithfull to me for the rest of her life and doesn't be pissed off when I'am not (ha, ha) and there are more points for sure, but they won't come to my mind right now. But if only this ones fit I'm still satisfied. (Damn that is perfect! -Lee) 7. Describe your worst drug and /or alcohol experience. Marcus: There where a lot i can promise, but the worse? Maybe this one: On christmass I was in a bar and drank a lot. Late at night I slept with my head on the table suddenly the cops entered the bar and wanted to see my passport. They woke me up and I vomited on them, but they left without taking me with them. Some hours later, on my way home, I stood in th emiddle of the street and pissed on it. Then a car came and what should I say, there where the same cops from the bar and they wanted to arrest me for the night, but after a lot of discussions between them and a friend of mine who tried to bring me home they let me go again. The luck was on my side this night, cause they also could react in other ways. This was one of my favorite experiences. 8. If you made a movie, describe it. Marcus: I don't know a special story right now, but I would like to do a movie with some kind of evil superhero, who is able to do some psychokinetik stuffs like a god or something. You know I like some ideas in Carrie, Omen, Alien 4 or Howard the Duck, but it never was realized consequently. Of course the movie must be with a lot of gore and without love and sex (I hate this). The story must play in the present and without a "happy end". The evil has to win. That is a happy end for me. 9. What should we expect from AFTER BLAST and PLASMA in the future? Marcus: At first We're doing a Goropsy/Afterblast split 7" and I want to record a new Plasma tape. It would be nice if this appears as a split tape. We will see, but we'll keep on grinding, for sure. 10. Thanks for spewing in this sick 'zine! Any final words? Shit talking?
