MANIAC KILLER 1/2002 1. Greetings Neil! How are you? Please present MANIAC KILLER! Neil: I'm doing fine, thanks. Maniac Killer is a one man Brutal Gore Grind project from Portland, Oregon. With Ultra down tuned guitars, Sub Sonic grinding bass, insane drum machine blasts and pig vomit gurgles and anally violated infant screams! 2. What kind of things motivated you to do such an extreme project? And what kind of themes is the musick based around? Neil: The thing that motivates me the most is my love for Sick Gore Grind. Also I was tired of not being able to find members to start a band, so I said fuck it and did the "Desperate Depravity" disc. I also wanted to create a project that was original yet Brutal as fuck. The lyrics are what I call "stream of thought Gore". They're written as more a collage of words to avoke a certain feeling. I'm very much influnced by the William S. Burroughs novel Naked Lunch when it comes to the M.K. lyric writing style. But of course the feeling I'm trying to convey with the song titles and lyrics is total Gore Sickness! 3. What releases do you have, do you have any future releases planned? Neil: Right now I just have the "Desperate Depravity" CD-R. The next thing I'm going to be doing is a totally original Gore Grind Project with Gurge from Lord Gore. It should be just as insane maybe even more so than M.K. Hopefully some label in the underground will like what they hear and want to put out a M.K. full length (I can only hope). 4. What are your favorite bands and which inspired M.K.? Neil: Some of my favorite bands are: C.U.M., Last Days of Humanity, Gore Beyond Necropsy, Gut, Terrorizer, C.B.T., Disgorge(MEX), S.C.D., Machetazo, Meatshits, Engorged, Hemdale, Old Blood Duster, Repulsion, Carcass, Sanity's Dawn, Regurgitate, Utopie, Old Misfits, Fantomas. All of the above bands inspire M.K. in some degree. 5. What are your favorite movies? Neil: I love Horror/Gore movies! Do you plan on making a website to promote M.K.? Neil: I really don't have the skills or a computer (I use Web Tv) to put up my own website. Maybe down the road I'll hire someone who knows what they're doing. 7. How is your life in general? What do you do, and what do you do with your free time? What hobbies and interests do you have? Neil: Lifes pretty good, I guess. I spend allot of time at my job. I do carpentry work, I'm building a house up on Mt. Hood here in Oregon. With my free time I play and record music, watch movies and listen to music. 8. Finish this story; Jane was on her way to buy the new USHER CD when she was approached by a strange man in a trench coat... Neil: His eyes were filled with desperate lust as he gazed upon her young supple body. "I need somthing from you" whispered the man in a strange insidious voice. "What the fuck do you want from me weirdo!" exclaimed Jane in a mockingly arrogant tone. "Your flesh!" answered the man as from beneath his trench coat arose an axe. "Oh my god!" screeched from Jane's mouth as the axe violently smashed into her young pretty face. Her lifeless body fell to the ground as the man continued his murderous frenzy upon her corpse. Blow after blow the axe hacked and chopped through her flesh with sickening ease. After what seemed like an eternity of virulent dismemberment the man stopped. Out from his coat he pulled out a large plastic garbage bag. With the excitement of a 6 year old child on Christmas day he placed her tattered remnants in the bag. Into the darkness he walked, the plastic bag over his shoulder like a "Maniac Killer" Santa Claus never to be seen again! Mu Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! THE END. (Righty-O! Neil: I really don't have any. I say, if people want to have faith and believe in a religion that's there problem and doesn't consern me. As long as they don't try and preach there beliefs to me it doesn't really bother me. I'm a pretty tolerant person and religion is something that is not going away. So I don't waste my time and energy thinking about it very often. 10. Thanks Neil! Please conclude this interview and stay sick as a mofo! Neil: Thanks for the interview man!
