Now let's make it in a different way, everybody already knows how I would describe Lymphatic Phlegm. So, for making it really interesting I want to know how would you describe Lymphatic Phlegm??? Please my friend, you know us since long time ago, so please tell what you really think and want to say about us, thanks in advance!!! Well friends, Lymphatic Phlegm by Mr. Lee Davis. (L.P. is the Brazilian answer to your most repulsive pathological fantasies, too sick for words and must be heard! Check out the reviews for further ravings! -Lee) 2. Is the drum machinie a preference? It works very naturally with your sound. Tell us about that creepy-as-hell guitar distortion in your guitar sound! Andre: It isn't a preference, it's a necessity!!! If we want to do something here, we need to do with the drum machine!!! Yeah, I really think so. The drum machine is and will be one of our main characteristics ever and we'll never want to leave it, your own comment is a great reason to keep it!!! About our guitar's distortions, many guys comment about. Honestly I don't know what happens, it really isn't intentionally made. We use the common guitar effects, maybe it happens during the mixing or something else. Everybody comment it as a cool characteristic of our sound, so it's GREAT!!! 3. What upcoming releases do you have? How has your sound progressed since the first demo? Andre: Well, we've some stuffs coming on, but we prefer to wait the real release of them for not causing any trouble or false information. We consider the stuff released only when it's on our hands, please wait for good news soon!!! I think the variations are more noted by the people who are listening our stuffs since our 1st cassette, "Malignant Cancerous Tumour...", honestly I think the songs became faster and shorter, but you all can find more items to enclose on it, "What would you enxlce please Lee???". (Yes! The songs are faster and shorter, leaning heavier into the grind without breaching into noise, maintaining a killer blend of sickness and grinding manifestations... Vocals are still sicker than ever and the sound still stands out as being originally freaked! -Lee) The evolution becomes natural as the time passes by, each new release may have some new element which can be considered by some guys as "evolution". If it's happening and it's positive, it'll be very good for us and specially for Lymphatic Phlegm!!! 4. Your band stands above as a gore grind act that shows real dedication and naturally you have landed an appreciation that ranks you with the best of them! And the music is superb and over the top to boot, what bands have helped in the birth and evolution of L.P.? Andre: Thanks a fuckin' lot for your nice words Mr. Davis!!! I could mention lots of names but some of them are: "Carcass", "Xysma", "Repulsion", "Exulceration", "Macabre", "Autopsy", "Impetigo", "Regurgitate", "Rotting Flesh", "Sarcastic", "Necrony", "General Surgery", "Last Days Of Humanity", "Mortician"... 5. What do you think of the scene today and the new bands happening now? Andre: We're very satisfied with our scene today, many peole are hardly working for a better condition fo the scene and we're very glad for colaborating with it. On this way the scene becomes more and more expansive and the number of labels, bands, fanzines, magazines and people involved is increasing. I'm sure it wil continue on this way because there are many people who really want and work for it happen, so the union and colaboration between us is essential!!! Keeping this attitude it will continue for sure on this very expansive and positive way for a long time!!! Ohhh man, we really dig tons of bands. I'm sure you know the most of them right??? "Gross" is one of them, ha, ha, ha!!! (Thanks! -Lee) "Anal Birth" and "S.M.E.S." are two bands that we really enjoy and support a lot ecause they are doing a really fuckin' sick kind of gore musick and both guys of these acts are very honest and competent people. We have been in touch with "The Sewage King": Adam Rotella since a long time, we know and enjoy "Anal Birth" since their 1st cassetes and split cassetes. Bbblllleeeeuuurrrrgggghhhhhhhh, severe and festering Grind Gore for extremists!!! We're planing to do some split stuff with him in a near future, let's wait!!! About "S.M.E.S." we've recently released a split Cd with him [via "Bizarre Leprous Prod's/Cz.Rep" and we really enjoy this avant'garde cyber-synth terrorist Grind Gore attack. Since theif 1st stuffs we enjoy a lot. What Erwin is doing is really interesting and sick as fuck!!! Freaks into this kind of sick try to check them as soon as possible, I recommend, you'll not stay disapointed. 6. How was Fernando's barbecue? Did you get drunk? Andre: Ohhh yeah, the Fernando's barbecue was really amazing!!! Very good food, lots of cold beers, nice people, gggrrriiinnnnddddd as fuck... If possible come to the next one, on this year my friend!!! (I will! -Lee) No, I haven't got drunk anymore. Nowadays, some beers are already sufficient for me, we aren't the same alcoholic freaks of the past, our liver thank us!!! (Me too man, if I still partied like I use to I'd have health problems! -Lee) 7. Have you ever played a gig? Andre: No, we never played a gig. It has never been and probably will never be one of our main intentions, sincie the beginning we never care with it, we just want to do what we're doing nowadays. Without a real drummer it was always impossible too, it really isn't for us!!! We prefer to continue on this way just recording and releasing stuffs, we're very glad how the things are going!!! (I know exactly what you mean! GROSS and L.P. have a lot in common! -Lee) 8. Tell us about the scene in Brazil! Are there still a fair amount of posers there despite the great gore scene? Andre: The "Splatter/Gore" scene in Brazil continues very strong and active. Unfortunately we had some sad losses in the last years, some fuckin' great bands such as: "Gore", "Carnal Thumor", "Sarcastic", "Vomito"... broke up, but other great names have rised and are nowadays disseminating the grind gore sickness from Brazil, they are: "Neuro-Visceral Exumation", "Feculent Goretomb", "Neoplasm Disseminator", "Cativeiro", "Lethal Sense", "Genital Lacerate"... Most of you probably know them, right??? I think this rotativity is very common, some bands go and other bands come but the most important is to keep the scene strong, active and united and we're very glad to colaborate with it and stay sure that it'll go, on this way for many, many years yet, "Hail brazilian Grind Gore!!! Unfortunately, both bands are already R.I.P. now. "Carnal Thumor (Hy Mr. Purulent!!!)" was a fuckin' great band and they really left for sure their name disgorged on our scene, unfortunately they have released just a few stuffs on cassete but the necessary for we enjoy them a lot, sick as fuck Grind Gore!!! About "Ovarios" I haven't many contacts with them, If I'm not wrong, theyhave released one or two cassetes but unfortunately they have released one or two cassetes but unfortunately I didn't get it. They have also played two times at "Splatter Night" in the 3rd and 4th edition, and these were the only times that I met them, I don't know the reasons for the band's breakin' up!!! Some years ago, I met the "Flesh Grinder's" guys with more frequency but nowadays I don't see them for a long time. They are probably working for some new release, I'll get in touch with them to know what's happening. I hope to see them at "Splatter Night VI/2002" again!!! We haven't a Grind Gore scene in Curitiba, there are here just some Death and Black Metal bands that we aren't in touch with them, there's not any particular reasons for it, we just don't know them and them don't know us but I'm sure that exists a large amount of posers stinking up the scene of them, it's common any place!!! 9. What are your favorite movies? How did you get involved in the gore scene? Andre: If I'm not wrong, it must have started since the 80's ends and 90's when we've started to listen "Splatter Gore" more actively, to read about it on fanzines, magazines and books, to see more and more flix of this genre, to get more and more stuffs into this, our current life reality since those times, etc... I think all these segments make us enjoy all what's into this way of entertainment a lot. The "Splatter/Gore" culture is a very interesting kind of entertainment, we really love it!!! It may be a little difficult to explain with words what it represents for us, I think only the people involved with it can understand what I want to mean, you understand, right??? (Yes! Death is art and is very intriguing and full of dark doors that only certain people wish to explore! -Lee) 11. What are your 5 favorite releases? Other than extreme musick what hobbies and interests do you have? Andre: Honestly, we haven't much time to do some hobbie or some similar activitie. Our free time we spent with our rehearsals and with band's works as answer letters, E-mails, inties, etc... When we have some free time we really enjoy to go to the "Atletico's Arena" to watch some game of our fave football team, it's really awesome. Hail "Clube Atletico Paranaense - Brazilian Championship 2001!!!". When it's possible, we also go to the "Black Hole Mag's." head quarter (Hy Fernando!!!) and we also stay with our girlfriends, take some cold beers...
