| BULGARIAN GRIND/NOISE BRIGADES #1 Kremlin Pickle This is so DIY! It's really cool to get a taste of the Bulgarian scene as previously I knew of very little grind/noise activities over there! As with most DIY noise tapes it's not very predictable! We start with ANAL DISSECTED ANGEL with several live songs of drum machine grind/death nastiness and raunchiness with some more of those silly acoustic folk parts! Then there are 2 tracks from what I guess is SAUERKRAUT's noise project simply called SICK NOISE PROJECT, seems this was conceived, played live and then deceased in literal moments! How punk is that!? Hahaha... Please bear with me folks, as with noise tapes it's difficult to tell where one noise project with 20+ songs ends and the other begins but I'll do my best! DETMEG is screaming improv noise a la the classic A.C. style, guitars are hard to hear, short spastic songs and what is either some noise maker of just guitar feedback! I'm pretty sure it's just feedback... Silly song titles. PROJECT CORPORAL AE-74, here's a weird one! What the hell!? It goes from low-fi sludge with harmonized to more MORTICIAN style pummelling, heavy grinding guitars and fast drums and low grunts! Now AGENT MUTAGEN, for noise they sure are literal! Track 1, entitled "Track 1", is blasting drum machine sewage with decrepit muffled guitar (?) and weird noises here and there! Track 2 entitled "A Short Bluaarrgh" is just that! BAND X is live grind with low guttural vocals and some goofball singing parts. PURGATIVE ENEMA, 3 songs called "???" and then 4 called "Enema1, 2, 3, and 4"! Sick blasting Gore Grind, very cool and guttural! Pig squeal samples between songs! SAUERKRAUT is great! Sewage grind sickness with the weirdest guitar sound! Grunts and growls and noise! Some songs sound ridiculous with really cheesy growls/screams, goofy glam solos and acoustic shit here and there, this is definitely what you'd consider "funny" noisewage! TOL-IN-GAURHOTH is a surprise! Sick and blasphemous black metal like BURZUM! The second track is a persian sounding instrumental. This compilation tape definitely brings to mind the old saying "for freaks only"! First, apologies to Ronald for not reviewing this sooner, it was submitted right as I prepared the move back to Ohio and quit my job in Virginia! During that time I couldn't update Pus Vomit! Okay, FEASTING BLOOD is excellent gore grind! It's like DEAD INFECTION, fast, heavy, sick and guttural! A zombie feast cover and violent song titles! "Uh oh, they're fascists, duh!" Yeah they have a song called "Faggot Slasher", cry to your momma PC geeks! 15 songs! AMOEBIC DYSENTERY you should know from other reviews, 3 redone songs from "Tales From the Toilet" CD-R, I have that! 5 new tracks and a RAMONES cover! Awesome! A.D. of course doing the usual awesome chunky and fast, tight and twisted poop-eating gore grind! Have you already guessed that this is raw, aggressive, violent, brutal gory grind? 28 songs from 3 separate recordings! Guttural grinding gore similar to FEASTING BLOOD in that DEAD INFECTION vein. Brutal, dirty, disgusting and humorous gore song titles! This has intros from your favorite gore films unlike FEASTING BLOOD! Killer tape! Get it from Deathfuck Distro! DECOMPOSING SERNENITY/MORTUARY HACKING SESSION Witter was cool enough to send me a promo copy of this, I'm pretty sure this is for a CD release on Last House On The Right. I don't have a track listing but I think D.S. has 5 tracks and the following 6 are from M.H.S. D.S. begins as usual, with a raw, heavy and grooving grind infliction like the transcription of one's truly disturbed mind (namely Witter's!). A woman is screaming, and all of a sudden in my mind demons are ripping her open and happily laying her insides in disarray about them. Of course the screaming continues just so the listener knows she's not completely dead! Basic D.S. ingredients are all top notch between the high hissing vocals to the monstrous grunts, brain-damaged blast beats and moments of truly evil guitar riffs. There is as usual several surprises to catch you off guard, I think I hear some acoustic parts added in, and other various, weird sound elements to give some unorthodox variety to the insanity that D.S. is. M.H.S. strikes me with the same vulgar intensity as it did with the first recording, it's got elements of cheesy old school death metal, then with wretched gory vocals (those have to be effects!) gurgling alongside the higher gremlin speeches. This project becomes more out-of-the-ordinary than ever, I hear what I think is harmonica, melodic solos, dancebeat drums, bizarre horror intros and all kinds of creepy, foreign sounds... Nothing here ISN'T completely original! Witter follows no guidelines for how to express the twisted thoughts that keep pouring out of his brain, but then it still grabs anyone into gore and grind, that's what it is! While not traditional, it has a quality that envelopes my mind and I can't get enough of it! The riffs here in M.H.S. may bring back those blasphemous impressions we felt when we use to crank MORBID ANGEL! They rock, and they're just evil. I can't think of any good reasons why you shouldn't buy this, other than that 1. you're gay, 2. you don't like the sickest and most deranged grind ever or 3. your mom will yell at you. FETUXION "Rectorenal Cranium Perfusion" Here's a lesson in cult, I'd never heard of these guys, they're from Brazil I think. Pure gore grinding noise! Drum programs (or a real drummer?) that are fast and frenzied and nothing but, the whole way through, menacing guitar shredding all over the place and never letting up energy, with rancid chunk-blowing pitch-shifted gore vocals! Songs come up around 5 minutes so this isn't as short as moth bands that sound this way. It reminds me a lot of ANAL BIRTH! This great pro CD belts out 38 damn tracks of heavy blasting gore with hilarious freaked out titles and ridiculous intros from The Simpsons, George Carlin, etc. Some songs get cheesier than ever with retarded goof vocals and dumb music! The whole opus is a showcase of just what a grip Will has over the genre as well as music in general though, actually. His compositions are pretty elaborate! Drum programs rip too, by the way! One of the biggest monsters of gore grind to me was C.U.M. I got the "Rape Trauma Syndrome" demo and it was all down hill from there. No C.U.M. has become part of the gore legend archive. The music that C.U.M. vomitted out in such nefarious onslaughts painted around me a blood-soaked and depraved world where all one could smell was rot and puke. Drums are industrial quality with heavy, sludging riffs that are so low and heavy it could make a trendy feel weak. This CD contains material from tapes and split 7" EPs in one great package with a sweet giallo cover representing to me exactly what C.U.M. stood for. HORROR. Great for all the peeps too recent to the scene to have been graced by the sickness that is collected here. Get it from Razorback Records. DISGORGED FOETUS "The Gore Party" This is definitely one of my new fave gore bands! D.F. is another addition to the vast gallery of filthy gore acts carrying the torch of GUT, IMPETIGO and the like. It's a continuation of everything that enchanted us by the previous meistros! Reality death packaging, pitch-shifted gore vocals and heavy grooving riffs that penetrate deep beyond the visceral membrane and straight into your guts! That band name is a bit much don't you think? This band is from Mexico and does a menacing gore/porn grind thing, while I hear elements of SUFFOCATION type death but it's not delving into real technical territory. Songs blast and growl and then slow down for the plodding death. This isn't super original or overly interesing but it's raw and horrific grinding gore with a little death, and I like it.
