This is disgusting, masterful cyber gore perversity reminding me of LIBIDO AIRBAG or CATASEXUAL URGE MOTIVATION but not just a shameless clone exploiting another band, S.B. are sick and disgusting in their personal way! Funky and psychadelic synths, bumping phat drum programs, hilarious samples, chunky guitars and regurgitated giblet vocals! Geeze! I know the title is just plain wrong! The cover is subtle in a demented way, bah what a vulgar sense of humor! 8 nasty tracks. "Rectalcroc4000" is a kind of electonic noise insanity with the intent of filling the air with love! Hey, they didn't forget my appreciation and mentioned Pus Vomit in the "Special spanks and hellos"! But wait, this is not a bad thing, in fact in this case it's quite good! Pure, exceptional homage to what kicked death metal into peoples skulls back in the day, in this case, speaking namely of AUTOPSY! Much like GENERAL SURGERY did with CARCASS, here are members of classic Swedish death like DISMEMBER and ENTOMBED slamming out raw, thick slabs of meaty death! Even lyrics remain old-school, much like the more tame days (but then again for what tame is to gory death metal, is still pretty damn sick!). Music style is so much a tribute you'll swear you're hearing a lost AUTOPSY album! From drums to guitars to even vocals, it's pure! Which is wonderful if you're like me and love AUTOPSY! If that's you, don't hesitate to check it out if you forgot what good death sounded like! This is one of those "bigger" releases, the kind you can likely find in some stores! The cover art is excellent in a grave-robbing zombie/cannibal/ghoul sort of way! DECOMPOSING SERENITY/SUGAR PLUM FAIRY Split MCD Metal Gate Records I think "Metal Gate" is Witter's little label but am not sure! Why should DECOMPOSING SERENITY keep on putting out releases? I'll tell you, because freaks like me crave this quality brand sickness like it was Yoshika's sweet chocolate! (Don't even ask) Everything that makes D.S. soak into my blood is here, twisted intros from things like Christopher Walken's cool line in that crap "Joe Dirt" and then from the awesome "Sleepy Hollow", present some tracks. The music this time tends to deal out a little more groove with the perfect amount of fast grind parts. Riffs bump and groove and rock in all morbid angles to create dark and sinister images in your head. It seems almost at times I think of the likes of CBT or GUT to this brand of groovin' gore, but just in dabs. Gore-soaked vomit growls and hissing demonic retches spewing over the grind dementia. Something about the imaginative way D.S. approaches sickness and morbidity makes me think of when my mind was more innocent, and how the macabre fascinated me then, when the simpler things fascinated me on a much larger scale. I'm sure the personality of the music has a lot to do with it, the sound is mutual to the depiction of a clown doll with chicken guts around it! The D.S. side is actually called "Poultry organ toys"! It could have a great deal with what draws me so much to grind of such a singular style, it seems to draw in my fascinations. I was at an ORIGIN show the other day and commented to my friend Aaron how I felt like a modern-day Adams family, where supposed "happy" (or gay) music pisses me off, but I find beauty and happiness in really twisted music, which makes me think of the happiness I feel when listening to bands like D.S.! Ok, moving on, SUGAR PLUM FAIRY, it's pretty obvious Witter doesn't care about portraying a very evil portrayal in this one! Which just goes back to the subtle dementia. Cover is of 2 dolls, one without eyes! Music is awesome! This project experiments with spaced synth sounds making me think of LIBIDO AIRBAG or CYBORGASM meets DECOMPOSING SERENITY! Melodic and melancholic, even, guitar parts bring a very "listenable" element to bizarre spaced buzzes and clinks, blasts arise with gory shrieks not far from D.S.'s style at all. The synths and melodic guitar are droning and relaxing almost, like the listen to MERMAID IN A MANHOLE on the split with EARWIGS, or GYNOPHAGIA. 6 songs for each band on this one something you can't miss! Just order this now from www.blackholemag.com/bhp RETCH "Ben-Wa Baby Heads" Unmatched Brutality Records One of the first thoughts that came to mind when I got this from the Razorback distro was "We are all going to Hell!" This is so wrong, so extreme, so hilarious, goddamn it just about matches the thorough offensive and tabboo nature of SLOUGH! Speaking of SLOUGH, this band is similar! It is very gore-grindish, but with structured riffs that may be deemed more death. Call it whatever the hell you like, this band has struck my senses with such force I will just call it genius! Imagery and lyrics (which I think are not really being sung, but are a great touch!) focus in on fluids and rotten anatomy being perverted into realms of the most bizarre and repulsive! Defilement of organs, feces, puke, menstrual blood... Yuck! Brutal, grinding and guttural sewage gore/puke... RETCH is composed of two necrophiles; Ryan and Justin, with the assistance of a drum machine, the programs are set to perfection, tight and technical, adding to effect that reminds me of putrid acts like CATASEXUAL URGE MOTIVATION and the aforementioned SLOUGH. It is noted that no vocal effects are used which is impressive because vocals do not get more disgusting and rotten than they do here! Inhaling croaks of disgust and hateful high retches (hey, "retch"!)I think, really, that this is the most extreme album cover I have ever seen. I know it seems people say that a lot, but this might just be the real deal. Even though what RETCH does isn't anything new for the kind of music they play, they do it to the point of such vile perfection that this release completely blows my mind, as did their debut MCD. 9 songs including a cover of CLEAN FLESH! The second release by Bulgarian label Kremlin Pickle, S.O.A. is noisecore! As usual I'm not the best to compare and contrast since I'm not the noise connoisseue, but off the top of my head, the likes of NAPALMED and Ern's old noise project EXPERIMENTATIONS iN IRRITATION. 6 tracks of droning, spaced noise with samples, sounds and music played backwards (I think), and a fair share of harsh elements!
