From Krishnagiti
O Permanent One! Balarama, confounded by liquor and sexual pleasure,
took the most beautiful women on earth to the forest in Raivataka mountains
and enjoyed with them.
(Toddy tapper enters from the sides and offers a pot of liquor and a packet
of pickle to Balarama)
O Unconquered One! Lord! Then Vivida, a minister of Narakasura was
troubling people in cities and homes. When he went to the Raivataka forest,
he saw Balarama enjoying in the company of women.
Seeing the well-built monkey shaking the branches of trees vigourously, the
women laughed. Then, O Lord of Gods! He climbed down from the tree and took
away the pot of liquor.
When Balarama threw a stone at this strong well-built monkey, he managed to
evade it. O Lord! That scoundrel monkey showed his ass to Balarama sitting
in the middle of beautiful women.
Lord! Then he started making several vulgar signs and mocked Balarama.
Balarama became enraged. Not only that, all of a sudden Vivida smashed the
pot of liquor right in front of Balarama!
Then Balarama, deciding to kill the monkey, took his plough and pestle.
O Lord! Pulling out a tree, Vivida struck Balarama's head! Balarama struck
him effortlessly with his plough. Neglecting that he pulled out another
tree.
Balarama smashed the tree, Vivida pulled out all the trees in the forest.
When Balarama diverted all the stones thrown by him, Vivida struck him with
his hand.
O Hari! Then Balarama also discarded his weapon. Balarama struck a terrible
blow on the monkey/s head and made him a follower of Naraka (killed him)
and saved this world from all his troubles.
