Shri P. Parameswara Panikkar was born in the year 1938 in the village of Kuthanur, Palakkad District. Mother: Palat Veettil Lakshmi Amma. Father: Sekhara Panikkar. In 1946, while studying in Fourth Standard in school, Shri Parameswara Panikkar joined Krishnattam at Zamorin's Palace, Calicut. He started his training under the tutelage of Asan Palakkal Achutan Nair, Asan Azhakkumaratt Gopalan Nair and Asan Puzharamatt Ittirarissan Nair.
Shri Parameswara Panikkar's arangettam took place on April 26, 1946 (Malayalam month Makaram) in the role of Krishnan in Avataram play. As his training progressed, he started playing the role of Krishnan in the plays Kaliyamarddanam, Kamsavadham, Banayuddham, Swayamvaram and Rasakrida. At the same time he enacted small (kuttittaram) and big (adyavasanam) roles like Kamsan, Sisupalan, Jarasandhan, Rugmi, Vasudevan, Narakasuran, Murasuran, Jambavan, Vividan etc.
In 1987, Shri Parameswara Panikkar was awarded the Manaveda Gold Medal for the best Krishnanattam artist by the Gurvayur Devaswom. It was presented by Zamorin King. In 1989, he received the fellowship of Human Resources Development Ministry, Government of India, awarded for a period of two years. In 1991, he received the Kalamandalam Award for best Artist in Krishnattam. In 1996 Shri Parameswara Panikkar received the Pinchanchalam Award established to commemorate the famous Sanskrit Scholar and Krishnagiti commentator/translator, Prof. P.C. Vasudevan Elayath. In 2003, he received the Revathy Pattathanam Puraskaram for the best performance in temple art. He has also received many other awards.

After retirement Shri Parameswara Panikkar keeps engaged in the art world by
participating in plays and ballets.
Wife: Pankajakshi Amma (expired in 2003).
Daughters Sudha, M.Com (works in KSFP) and Lata, M.Sc. (Teacher)
Son Madhu works in Abu Dhabi (PWD Department).
