Graphics: 7.5 out of 10
The graphics in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past are not fabulous, though taking into consideration the limitations of the Super Nintendo, they are quite good. Also, these graphics are a huge leap for the Zelda games. There Zelda series up to ALTTP hasn't been the greatest in terms of graphics. Now A Link to the Past offers gamers more detailed scenery and better quality animation in characters and items. The graphics in a Link to the Past are easy to look at, therefore making it a fun game to play. Music/Sound: 10 out of 10 Like all Zelda games, I was quite simply "moved" by the music and sound in A Link to the Past. The great sound effects can be found in other Zelda games, and help enhance the suspense/emotion of the scene, thereby getting the gamer more into the game. The music is also fantastic! A Link to the Past includes a soundtrack which is so brilliant that it challenges that of Ocarina of Time! I was very impressed and pleased with the music and sound in this game. Storyline: 9 out of 10 One thing that has always drawn me toward Zelda games is the strong storyline. I know there are some who will disagree with me on this, though I believe that the Zelda games usually have better story lines than those in any other series. It is very deep and vast, and really gets the players into the game. They laugh when something amusing happens, they are terrified when they go into the boss battles. The storyline alone will have you hooked. Replayablity: 7.5 out of 10 Adventure games have a certain amount of replayability taken away from them. The same stuff happens each time through, therefore, people can only play it so often without becoming bored. I suggest giving the game some time to disappear from your memory, then when you go back to it, you will be right into it again. All in all, you CAN play it more than once, though playing the game through 50 times in a row would get a little tiring. Amount of Fun: 10 out of 10 This game is fantastic! Not much else can be said, except that fans of Zelda games, and of adventure games are guarinteed to have a great time playing it. The zelda series is quite popular, and I believe this is due to the fact that it is appealing to so many people. Most people like the series, and at one point or another are sucked into the vast, amazing world that is Zelda. I would be surprised if I found someone who said that they hate playing A Link to the Past. Overall: 9 out of 10 I would absolutely recommend this game. Whether you find the SNES version for cheap, or you purchase the Gameboy Advance re-release of it, I think you will find that it is well worth your money. I was quite impressed with the game, especially because it is a super nintendo game originally. If you find that other zelda games such at Majora's Mask are too difficult, then fear not! A Link to the Past is a fairly straightforward game. I haven't had too much difficulty with it so far. However, if you are having trouble, and need a bit of help, detailed walkthroughs are easy to come by on the internet. I recommend The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to everyone who is looking for a fun gaming experience! |
