Broken heart thrown to the ground...
Picked up and tossed in the Lost and Found.
Like a glove from a fair beauty's hand...
A set of car keys dug out of the sand.
Like a young boy's blue sweater, all tattered and torn...
Or the baseball cap, no longer worn.
Like a white hankerchief, which once dried up tears...
And the lucky rabbit's-foot keychain that cast away fears.
For Days and Weeks and Months on end...
Unclaimed treasures with nowhere to send.
Day and Night, the heart still pounds...
Awaiting retrieval from the Lost and Found.
