My family and I are all very close. My mom Darla and my dad Bob have been married for 22 years. They have lived in the same house for almost as long as I have been alive. My mom is a homemaker and her interests include gardening and landscaping, refinishing furniture, embroidery, and lots of other crafts. In the winter you will find her tearing apart furniture she has either found at the recycle area for free or picked up at thrift stores. Her specialty is wing chairs. Our house is full of several of her custom designs. In the summer you will find her outside working in the yard. Over the past few years she has changed it all dramatically adding grass, flower beds, trees, arches and many other beautiful pieces. I was also bitten by the gardening bug and spent countless hours outside helping her with new additions the past year. For laypersons, that means that he makes roads and such. He used to work in the field, taking calulations and actually surveying the land to be worked on. Now he works in an office computing those calculations and making drawings and plans of projects that will be started. His main interests include golf, hunting and outdoor activities. In the fall is moose season, and he hunts every year. All summer long you can find him either boating, fishing or on the golf course every few days playing for fun, or competing in tournaments. A few years ago he got some college hockey tickets for free and he, my brother and I went. We were hooked after that and now we are all avid fans of UAF Nanook hockey! We never miss a game, and it's something fun to do during the cold dark winters. My sister Danelle is 26. She was married at 18 to a man named Shawn who is in the Air Force. They were stationed in Phoenix, AZ a couple years later. About a year ago, they divorced. Now she lives here in Alaska. Kyle, my little brother is 17. He is a senior in high school. Scary! She is half dachsund and half chihuahua. Tiny used to be my sister's dog, but we have adopted her. She is a purebred Beagle who is about 10 years old.
