this life truly is bittersweet
the sadness is inevitable
at least for those who care
like the feeling you get after reading a great book
your stomach turns, your breath becomes short
you long for more, wishing it would never end
the water wells up around your eyes as with all sad farewells
you look for something, anything that could continue the storyline
and the epic could go on forever
at least just one more book
another tale of beauty
of what we wish the world was really like
it is and can be
but the nigh of the tale must come
if not now, prolonged to possible redundancy
it's never prudent to force things
best to end it with a bang, so we can look back and remember it with beauty
friends come and go
some last forever
some fade and leave only memories
the strongest of bonds can break with unexpected abruptness
they leave each other to move on
hold on to the memory, let go of the reality
everything ends, there are no exceptions
reminisce, remember the good
life is much too fleeting, as are our experiences
this life truly is bittersweet
the sadness is inevitable
but write it all down in memory
just as a book can be reread, memories can be reminisced
file them in your library
the library of your heart and soul
our memories are ours to keep
our memories are forever
