my words don't convey
my actions don't convey
who I truly am inside
I try to express
I try to reveal
the contents of my soul
but I don't know how well it shows
my thoughts, my soul
words become my enemy
deeds end up mistakes
and what I meant to say, to show
is not really me
how can I convey the real me?
and show my soul to you?
I can only be myself when by myself
and express me through words on-and-off
I want to do it all the time
but the world stifles me
my thoughts, my soul
I want to bare it all to you
and show you who I am
I try my best
but I fear it doesn't shine through
so I ask 'Do you see me?'
'do you see deep within?'
look inside, see me
my thoughts, my soul
