In Loving Memory of Lightning
You were my friend so loyal and true,
Giving loving pats with your soft, soft paws.
Your purrs and caresses so feely shared,
With all that came your way.
A coat of downy cream and white and eyes of
glowing gold,
The angel wings you surely had were hidden from my
sight.
Why did you have to go so young and take your
light from me,
Now all I have are memories and tears from my
broken heart.
I know you would have melted hearts, if all had
seen your beauty,
But now you're gone and I can't describe the
wonders you imparted.
Your love of live with energy and zeal, giving
affection to me so freely,
Blessing my entire life with the uniqueness of
your being.
I miss you so my sweet, dear girl, it's hard to
bear each day,
Without your kisses and gentle hugs to make my
life complete.
The only thing that gets me through is knowing in
my heart,
You love me still and you are healed, and never
more will suffer.
So play and romp with true delight until we meet
again,
And share your love with Angels bright, and those
that are waiting there.
Then one day I will join you all and hold you
close again,
Never more to be apart with joy that never ends.
I love you and miss you Lightning, you were truly
so special!
