| Jacob Underwood is O-Town's most individual member, and he was the same at Valhalla HS. Teacher Steve Montgomery wasn't surprised when his pupil turned up on television. "I always remember him talking about how much he liked Michael Jackson, which I thought was interesting, because it wasn't cool among his peers," Steve tells J-14. "But Jacob didn't care. He kept reminding everyone that his interest was in music, and Michael was a great songwriter, performer and dancer." Steve saw that Jacob was special from the start. "Jacob just shined," he says.
