"That old boy has a few tricks up his sleeve yet," he said, sitting down. "So I've heard," Sam replied, rubbing his face. "Zac might need you once he's done with him," Matt went on. Sam chuckled. I groaned. Matt looked over at me, smiling. "You do realise that you and Angie are the only ones we don't particularly need or want right now, don't you?" he pointed out. I looked over at him. He hesitated. He glanced at Sam, before looking back at me. "If Mike approves I was thinking of just dumping you somewhere like we did with Brad," he went on. My eyes widened and I looked away. "Oh don't worry, he's probably still alive... for how long I'm not sure," Matt shrugged. I shifted my weight nervously. He chuckled, then stood up and left the room. I bit my lip as I heard Zac yell. Between half an hour and an hour later, Matt appeared in the doorway. "Sam, Zac needs you now," he said. Sam nodded, and headed through the presumed hallway. Matt looked at me as Mike came through the door. He also glanced at me, but comtinued through to the first hallway we'd seen him in. Matt then followed Sam. Fifteen or twenty minutes later, I heard a commotion. As I looked to the doorway I saw Sam and Matt half leading/half dragging Zac into the room. He has his head in his hands, and collapsed to his knees as soon as he was let go. I began to stand up before Matt pointed to me. "You stay down," he ordered, closing the door. Sam had gone to sit on the couch, and Matt now made his way down the entrance corridor. Then Zac fell onto his back, still holding his head. I tugged against the hand cuffs, wanting to go to him. Sam was watching us. He sighed, then finally stood up and came towards me. I backed off as far as the pole would let me. "Relax," he insisted. Realising what he was going to do, I let him undo the hand cuffs. Then I bolted for Zac. "Zac man, are you ok?" I asked, touching his right hand. Then he moved it. Basically all I saw was blood. "Oh my God," I gasped, moving his other hand. Underneath, was the wound. My hand flew to my mouth as I sat back. "I'm ok," he insisted, replacing his left hand, "just a bit of a headache." He sighed as Matt returned. "There's a van left out there," he said to Sam, "I'll take her now." My eyes widened with realisation, as I turned to Zac. I grabbed him into a hug. "Ok..." he began. "Zac, he's going to abandon me somewhere and leave me for dead," I whispered, "like he did to Brad." Matt was almost at us as Sam stood. Zac sat up slightly. "No... he can't," he began. I didn't reply. That was when Matt pulled me from the ground, and began to hand cuff my hands in front of me. "You can't..." Zac began, standing up unsteadily. "Do yourself a favour and relax Zac, you're lucky Mike's having a rest," Matt said, then went over to Sam. I turned to Zac. He took my face in his hands, unintentionally leaving blood on my face. "We'll find you," he whispered, "wherever you go, we will find you, ok?" I could only nod, my eyes beginning to water. Then he hugged me again. Matt broke us up again to lead me out of the room, as Sam ordered Zac back tot he pole. I was taken out through the main door, and to a van waiting on the other side of the gate. Matt opened the back door, helped me in, then got in the driver's seat. The van was similar to the one we had driven to the docks in. I sat huddled in the back corner as we took off. We hadn't driven far down the main road, before Matt turned off onto a gravel track. We drove down the gravel for about ten minutes, before Matt stopped the van. He glanced back at me, then got out. I gulped. He came to the door, opened it, and got me out. Then we followed a small track for about a minute. When we stopped, I gasped at what I saw. Brad was laying on the ground, his hands hand cuffed around a small tree. Matt went to see if he was alive. "He's alive," he said as he checked his pulse. He indicated for me to go over to him. I looked around, but did as I was told. He took hold of my arm and led me to a tree about five metres away. Then he unlocked my hand cuffs, made me turn my back, and then hand cuffed me again to the tree. I closed my eyes and slid to the ground. He knelt down with me. "Now, I gave one of these to Brad in case he thought of escaping," he began, pulling out a small pill, "and you'll need the same." My eyes widened. "It's nothing drastic," he went on once he saw my reaction, "it'll just reduce your strength level for a while." He waved it in front of my mouth. I just sat straight back against the tree. He sighed. "Would you prefer this or a bullet?" he raised his eyebrows. I hesitated, looking at it. Seconds later, he put it in, then held my jaw shut and blocked my nose. I quickly gulped, hising it under my tongue. "Open," he ordered. I opened my mouth slowly, and he checked. "Ok, lift your tongue," he said. I quickly moved it on top and pushed it back a little before again opening my mouth. He checked it, then unexpectedly punched me in the stomache. I swallowed. "That a girl," he grinned, standing up. My eyes widened, realising what he'd done. I coughed. He laughed. "Oh if only the boys were here... You know, I was thinking of bringing Taylor out here too. Isaac's the only one I have an interest in and Mike's hell bent on punishing Zac. Amy needs to be kept to persuade Zac to stay, but Taylor..." Matt shrugged, "I don't know, I'm getting tired of him freaking out on us." Then he just smiled and began to walk away. I sat back against the tree again and closed my eyes. It was just minutes before I began to feel dizzy. Matt could be heard leaving in the van soon after. I looked over at Brad, who hadn't moved at all. I guessed he was unconscious. Closing my eyes, I sat back again. I knew I wasn't completely out of it, and I remembered I still had my knife... but the tree was almost a foot thick and it was no good on hand cuffs. I sighed, frustratedly. It wasn't long before my vision blurred, and I blacked out. When I awoke, my vision was still blurry, and I couldn't make anything out. Something moved beside me. |
