We were silent. Matt smiled. "And now, after that revelation, we are going to be ridding this room of a couple of trouble makers," his face turned to serious again, as he knocked on the door three times. In came two more men. One made his way toward Zac's cell, and began entering a code into the keypad beside it. The other man came for me. The cell door opened slowly, and Zac silently emerged. Once I was unstrapped, the second man pulled me from the chair, and we were both taken to the door. Matt smiled again before leading us out. He bolted the door again behind us, then began leading us down the hallway. We went further down, then turned left into the next hallway. Three doors to the left, we came to a halt. Zac was looking worried, as Matt began to unlock the door. There was a window in the door, and we couldn't see anything but white. Matt opened the door, and we were shoved in. He followed. "Now... Troy wasn't at all pleased with having to do this this early, but this time he doesn't want any trouble. And we all know who seems to cause the most during these times," he eyed us both. Zac and I glanced at each other, wondering what he was going to do. Then Matt turned and left the room. Once out the door, he turned back to us. "Oh and good luck! You're going to need it," he grinned, then laughed as the door was shut and locked. One of the two me pressed something beside the door, and then they both left. Matt just stood and watched us. We looked around. "Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling about this?" I murmured. "Because we're locked in a room with a psycho watching our every move?" Zac suggested. I shook my head. There were suddenly two very loud clanks coming from behind the two side walls. "That can't be good," he said. I looked back at Matt. Troy had joined him, and they were both now just watching us. It was then that Zac gave a sudden yelp, and rushed to the left wall. "What?!" I exclaimed. Then I noticed... the wall was moving in towards us. As so was the other. "Uh oh," I said. Zac was desperately trying to fight the wall back, but the floor (made of white stone) had been purposely polished, and he couldn't hold his footing. I ran to the opposite wall and tried, but with the same result. We eventually backed into the centre of the room. "What are we gonna do?" I stammered. "I don't know," he replied. Then he looked towards the door. We had about two metres of room left either side of us. Suddenly, Zac began undoing his belt. "What are you doing?" I asked. He didn't reply. Once he had the blet off, he wrapped it around his left knuckles. Then without warning, he took a swing at the glass in the door. It shattered. "Hey, hey, hey!" Matt got his attention. He'd pulled out his gun and was now pointing it at Zac. "Is it better to be squashed, or shot?" I said in a low voice. Zac looked back at me, then at Matt again. The walls had come in another half a metre. "I'm not dying at the hands of him," Zac almost growled. I was sure that if Matt didn't have a gun, he would have broken the door down by now. Once the walls only gave us less than a metre of room, we began to try and push both away at the same time. The process didn't even slow. "We're screwed," I said simply, giving up. For the first time in ages, I was seeing Zac more frightened than ever. He was still trying to fight back when we had only a foot left. When the walls finally got so close that we could hardly move, Zac turned to me. "May the terror trio live on," he said, and took hold of my hand. I nodded with a smile. We closed our eyes. Seconds later, when we felt both walls pushing against our bodies, there were two more loud clanks. The walls stopped. We both took a deep breath, wondering what was going on. Then we heard Matt swearing. "Oh my God..." Zac breathed, shutting his eyes again for a second. "Get them out of there," Matt shouted, clearly annoyed. We felt the pressure from the walls ease a bit, then I heard the door open. Zac was pulled out roughly, and as soon as it was clear, they also pulled me out. Immediately, Zac had fallen to his knees, his eyes watering and whispering 'thank yous'. I leant back against a wall and shut my eyes, sighing thankfully. There, a slid to the ground. After a moment's silence, Troy spoke. "Maybe they've learnt their lesson?" he said to Matt. I opened my eyes again to see Matt looking down on us. "No. They never will," he said, then signalled to the two waiting men. They each took us by the shoulders, and we went back to the other room. "Should we try again later?" Troy asked, as Matt unbolted the door. "No, I've a better idea," he replied, opening the door. The two men shoved us in. "Free any of them, and I'll change my mind," he threatened, before closing and bolting the door again. We glanced at each other. "About what?" Taylor asked. We both looked at him. "About not killing us," i replied, partly still in shock. Zac sat down and stared at the floor, again realising how close we'd come. I stepped back. "What happened?" Ike asked. We hesitated. "It was one of those rooms where... the walls come in on you," I tried to explain. "What the...?" Taylor began, as they all looked startled. "How did you get out?" Amy asked. "It... it stopped, with about this much room," I indicated with my hands. "They must have been ticked off," Taylor said. "Matt was," Zac replied. "Are you ok Zac?" Ike asked, as his back was to him. He nodded, then began to crawl towards Amy. I watched him go, then sat on the floor and shuffled back between Ike and Taylor. "Why, did he want to kill you already?" Taylor asked nervously. "Because apparently we're the trouble makers," I replied, before we heard the door being unbolted again. Matt entered with something in his hands, and the same two men followed. |
