When Lotor starts his pursue for Planet Arus, he soon has his eye for the beautiful Princess Allura. He wants her to be his slave but then later decides she's too pretty to be a slave and then wants her for his bride. The Voltron Force, Keith, Lance, Pidge and Hunk will now have their hands full for they not only need to protect Planet Arus but also Princess Allura. After attempts of getting the Princess, Lotor targets a new planet, Planet Pollux, and a young woman, Princess Romelle, who looks like Allura. The resemblence between the two are so twin like she's like Allura's cousin. How can Voltron protect sister planets?

As the battles for Planet Arus and Princess Allura, Lotor continues to take his frustrations out on Princess Romelle who is his prisoner. The Voltron Force and her young brother Prince Bandor are trying to rescue her. Finally after deciding Romelle was no longer useful, Lotor leaves her to die in the pit of skulls but then she is rescued by a mad man, who turns out to be Sven, the former Blue Lion pilot. The two team together and form a residence to attack Planet Doom. Voltron are the only ones who know of the secret band, hiding on Planet Doom in caves, making their plan to strike.

The final conflict finally comes when Lotor uses a clone of Coran's son to get into the Castle of Lions. Voltron attacks Zarkon right at the source while at the same time, Lotor mutiny's against his father and takes the throne. Zarkon becomes the brains of a robeast and is defeated, but survives. Voltron takes victory on Planet Doom with the help Sven's little residence. Romelle and Bandor are reunited finally. But just when peace started to rain, Zarkon pops his ugly head. This time with a new soldier, Cossack. Now Lotor needs to prove his worth again, now that Cossack has taken over his rank of being the commander of Zarkon's fleet.
