Earthly Disaster Scenarios

I started working on this website as a way to compile possible scenarios into one website with references. In case if such a possibility arises, someone can be able to find the answers and some solution(s) to solve the problem. The idea of this website came to be developed after watching the movie "Them!"

Mutation

Jurassic Park: 3 movies dealing with dinosaurs and man's manipulation of natural extinction. Dinosaurs are revived thru dna experimentation of revival. The only means to fight them are thru guns and explosives.

*Resident Evil:

*Giant Spiders:

Aliens/UFO

Mars Attacks:   In the 1950s, Tim Burton made a story about Martians invading Earth for survivual. Mostly to survive from an explosive Mars (their home-world). In other to defeat the Martians, the earthly governmental military were unable to capture them. They were able to capture one Martian who was fascinated with the burning of a bridge un-noticed and subdued with a quick jab (kind of like an upper cut punch). Insects would be enlarged by the Martians' ray-guns and only die by flame throwers. The military would later be flown into space toward Mars to fight them in hand-to-hand combat with success. The Martians had giant robots that took damage from gernades & tanks' projectiles. (http://www.marsattacksfan.com/storylin.htm)

In the 1990s, there was a movie called "Mars Attacks", the Martians could be fought hand-to-hand and weaponry to an extend. And they could be killed thru hand-to-hand combat and a yodeling song. The war broke out between earth & mars over a person releasing a dove as a peace symbol.

Tremors: See further details in the Monsters' section.

*V:

Doom: Originally made into a game in the 1990s followed up with 4 books, 3 gaming sequel and a movie in the early 21st century. Mankind discover a gateway and accidentally unleashed a demonic force that killed other civilizations and could only be sealed away thru the destruction of the teleportation-like devices to halt their advancements.

War of the Worlds: similar to "Mars Attacks" in a way

The Day The Earth Stood Still:  Klaatu & Gort (guardian robot) are visitors from another world whom came to Earth to warn about a nuclear war. Terror stricken the inhabitants of Earth after about 10 minutes of everything electric was shut down or inoperable. Then the military of USA shot Klaatu by accident resulting in Gort reviving him onboard their spaceship. If a situation arises like this: do not panic and find out what the visitors were sent to do. If you do panic enough, you may lose a galatic alliance with the best law & order society, etc.

The Blob: Two versions: 1958 & 1988. in the 1958 version, a creature like a slime arrives from outer space in a small town. The only thing to defeat/delay it is thru cold/CO2 or fire extinguishers. In the 1988 version:

*Enemy Mine: A Earthman space pilot crash-lands on a planet with a lizard-like warrior from the Dracon Empire.

Monsters (including Living Dead)

Living Dead/Zombies:  Many sequels spawn after movie "Night of the Living Dead", the deads would rise from the grave thru some unknown mean. In the "Return of the Living Dead I- II", they arose thru chemical containers and infected anyone who breathes in the chemical. Plus the dead could arise thru the burning of already dead/infected bodies where the smoke went up into the air and came down as rain. The last living dead movie I seen "Flight of the Living Dead" dealt with the transportation of a medical-experimented woman who was injected with a-living-dead serum. She was killed again by the onboard medical staff's security guard, infected him after coming back from the dead again, which in turn caused everyone on the flight to fight for their lives.

Tremors: 4 movies dealing with a worm-like underground creature. Later the creature could evolve its' senses from noises to heat & noise to flight with the abilities. All could be killed with guns, and explosives could only be used on the worm-like underground creatures that can't walk on land (travel underground).

*Godzilla:

*Rodan:

Werewolf/werewolves:  Can be killed with a silver bullet according to ancient myths. However, if a werewolf has undergone other enhancements then you may need to use your brain to come up with a better solution.

Jason/Friday the 13th: 9 movies including a crossover with Freddy (Nightmare on Elm Street). Only ways to defeat a psychopathic tiny-brain is thru bullets, freezing, drowning and chopping the head off. In the last movie "Freddy vs Jason", the only method known is to put him to sleep then kill him.

Freddy/Nightmare on Elm Street: 8 movies including a crossover with Jason. Only ways to defeat a person who come back to haunt people in dreams: (will look into it some more). The last movie "Freddy vs Jason": have a psychopath battle Freddy in "dream" land and pull them out into "reality" to end the fight with real carnage.

Waxwork: Two movies (Waxwork & Waxwork: Lost in Time) deal with creatures coming to life thru the use of magic. Magic that is forbidden to use since man wasn't met to raise the dead. Fire & projectiles can help in killing these real-life relicas.

Very large shark/Megalodon: Check under Weather/Earthly disasters.

Alien(s): 5 movies dedicated and over 10 comics written about this acid-blooded creature. Movies: "Alien", "Aliens", "Alien 3", "Alien vs Predator" and "Aliens vs Predator 2". The only means to kill them is destroying/shooting the head off and fire.

Predator(s): 4 movies and over 10 comics dedicated to this outer-space creature that travels and hunt for sport. The only ways to kill them is thru a deathmatch between you and it. They fight honorably and with great passion.

Planetary-type impacts

Armageddon: A movie made in the 1990s dealing with a Texas-sized asteroid headed for earth. The only way to destroy the asteroid/meteor is thru detonating two nuclear missiles/warheads before an impact "point of no return" occurs.

*Deep Impact:

*Lake Placid:

*The Blob:

Weather/Earthly disasters

The Day After Tomorrow:  A movie that came out in 2004(early 21st century) dealing with severe snowstorms/tycoons/hurricanes freezing the northern portion of North America. It would be so bad where all citizens would migrate to Mexico before/after the president would clear the mexican debt with the USA.

Storm of the Century: Supernatural story/movie directed/written by Stephen King. The devil causes a major rainstorm to snowstorm occur and only barter for a kid to be his own. The kid would learn of mankind's faults & continue what the devil does.

The Core: A movie released in 2003 dealing with the collasping electromagnetic field of the Earth's core. The only way for the people to revive the core was thru nuclear detonations in the core to re-vitalize the field. With the field collasping, birds, wildlifes, and people were steadily dying.

*Twister:

Little Ice Age: Big Chill: Cold weather affecting mankind on earth, possible scenarios reviewed on the movie/video, and lists other historical records of when big chills occurred. One possible Pentagon scenario is policing the world to keep disorder from happening. This video mostly deal with the 21st century having to deal with the Ice Age.

*Dante's Peak/Volcano: A 1997 movie dealing with a volcanologist & his girl fleeing a deadly eruption in the Pacific Northwest.

Very large shark/Megalodon:  A prehistoric shark that is either extinct or out there. Movie "Shark Attack 3: Megalodon" feature a shark that could grow up to about 52 ft to probably 100 ft. Only known methods to kill this type of creature is thru explosives & shots to the head. David G. Stead in his book Sharks and Rays of Australian Seas (published in 1963) wrote about a possible 1918 sighting. Zane Grey & his son Loren reported another account in 1933 and narrated by Gross in 1987. More suggested movie materials: Shark Hunter(2001), Megalodon(2004),Hai-Alarm auf Mallorca (2004) and Meg ( currently in production). Novels to read:  Extinct (by Charles Wilson), Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror (by Steve Alten), The Trench (by Steve Alten), From the Dark Below (by Cari McKnight), Meg: Primal Waters (by Steve Alten), Meg: Hell's Aquarium (by Steve Alten), Meg: Night Stalkers (by Steve Alten; currently in production). Thanks to WikiPedia community for compiling information on this prehistoric shark.

*Category 6 Hurricane: One movie dedicated to it called "Category 6: Day of Destruction".

Category 7 Hurricane:  Two-part movie called "Category 7: End of the World" list the possibility of a seventh category hurricane occurring once every 500 years. Wider than two states and can

10.5: Two movies dedicated to a 10.5 earthquake scenario: "10.5" & "10.5: Apocalypse". An earthquake bad enough to cause California to become an island. Only ways to stop the quake from getting worse were detonating nuclear warheads in three seperate locations and specific time. The aftermath effect would be re-establishing communication with the survivors on the land and relaying what help can be render.

Manned disasters (on/not on purposes)

Mars Attacks: See Aliens/UFO section for further details.

Planet of the Apes: In the 1960s, a movie called "Planet of the Apes" was made. Three stranded astronauts crossed time-space and landed on Earth in a far distance time where humans didn't know how to speak. It is possible for both humans & apes to co-exist peacefully after  three apes(from the future) arrived in the 1970s(in the movie "Escape from the Planet of the Apes") named Cornelius, Zira & Milo. All three were killed at random time, and the child(Caesar) of Zira & Cornelius lived to co-exist peace between both races.  First he had to liberate his brothers & sisters in "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" where apes are enslaved. The movie "Planet of the Apes" was revised and brought to picture again in the year 2001, this time humans could talk and the only stranded astronaut could time-travel. This time he arrived on another "Planet of the Apes" where the Apes had a "Abe Lincoln" statue has enscribed apes are created equal, and most civilians looked to be apes. In both movies, it is theorized that a nuclear explosion advanced the evolution of apes.    (Planet of the Apes; Beneath the Planet of the Apes; Escape from the Planet of the Apes; Conquest of the Planet of the Apes; Battle for the Planet of the Apes)

Living Dead: See Monsters section for further details.

Jurassic Park: See further details in the Mutation section.

The Day After: In 1983, a group of kids got together to demand nuclear dis-mantlements thru a motion picture/movie. The movie showed an all-out between Russia/Soviet and the U.S.A. The only way for people to survive: burrow deep into the earth and take shelter's precautions against radiation fall-out with dirt or other certified means. Any remnants of government took longer to get to survivors with canned goods and other foods, even longer with saying what should be done to help them.

The Siege: In a 1998 movie, the story deals with marshal law & an official siding with terrorists to let people know that military might will always be needed to show a sense of security. The only ways to unravel a conspiracy like this is to investigate all CLUES.

Superpowers: There are several movies (X-Men, Sky High, Zoom) dealing with various peoples & beings have what humans call "super-powers". Depending on what powers are used, use what you know of it to defeat the person(s).

The Condemned: A movie released in 2007 dealing with several people either being framed for crimes or committed crimes. They would be released to a billionaire who seek to beat the SuperBowl's audience record. An inside info would have to be released to someone on the location of where the prisoners were taken since the identity of the billionaire & crew were only known to the public in the movie. Survivual at all cost depends on in-genuis technquies.

Oil Crisis:  The 1973 oil crisis began on October 17, 1973, when the members of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC, consisting of the Arab members of OPEC plus Egypt and Syria) announced, as a result of the ongoing Yom Kippur War, that they would no longer ship oil to nations that had supported Israel in its conflict with Syria and Egypt. The crisis was resolved by compact & efficent automobiles, oil rationing(odd-even depending on license plate's number, color-coded flags, electronic-ignition sensor in autos). More details can be found on WikiPedia(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_oil_crisis). Currently the USA is facing a renewed oil crisis since 2003 with the involvement of Iraq & Afganhanistan's War on Terror. Congress & Senate had been pushed to enforce automakers to research & develop new automobiles that use renewable energies. No Oil Production and Exporting Cartels Act of 2007 and hearings (as of 5/22/2007) from the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will address the following: price gouging (especially from oil companies) as a federal crime, and the intervention of the Joint Economic Committee led by Senator Charles Schumer to which lawmakers should intervene where the current corporate mergers (Exxonmobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Shell) should break up, as a way to protect American consumers. One of the best mock documentary movie to see is called "Oil Storm".
