We are gathered here today to mourn the passing of small business, workers rights, and the overall economy of Prince George. Their tragic deaths occurred on November 14th 2002. They are survived by all the people of Prince George, who will forever remember them in these dark times. Small business lived a long life here in Prince George; it always served the community well, providing an array of goods to the people of our city. It fought a heroic battle through the last decades of its life, when its health began to deteriorate due to constant bouts with big business. We will always remember small business for its service, quality and variety, and for its fight against corporate greed. We remember the economy as the basic structure of our monetary system. It lived a long life, a life full of struggles, often falling into near death, but always recovering. But this time it could not recover. It leaves us with an unworthy replacement, a new economy, completely centered and controlled at Wal Mart. We remember workers rights for their attempts to liberate the working masses of our city. Workers rights lived a short life, and were never in good health. But it fought hard to stay alive. Sadly, after bouts with Wal Mart policies in their sweatshops abroad and in their stores locally, it could fight no longer.
We will now have a minute of silence for remembrance.
We not only mourn these deaths, but also hope for their cruel murderer to be brought to justice. The cruel entity has committed these acts all around the world, with no reprisal; it continues to roam the earth looking for new victims. You can help to bring justice, boycott Wal Mart, and starve it of the power needed to continue these terrible acts. We can make our own justice, because it is the only way justice will be made.
