Clogher Protestant Boys
Waringstown was the venue for Clogher Protestant Boy's annual parade. 40
bands in total attended on a sunny eveing in the Co. Armagh village which had a
large crowd of spectators on route. Band going well despite only 16 fluters,
alot of them learners in attendance. Enjoyed in particular playing the Scottish
Jigs as we finished at the petrol station infront of the Blood and Thunder
bands. Heard East Belfast won Best Overall and according to Parkes at band
practice we picked up the melody awards including Melody Flute, Drum Corp,
Senior Drum Major and maybe Melody Style and Appearance but not entirely sure.
The parade however was overshadowed by a very serious incident where POB member,
little Stewart Houston forgot his Green Cross Code and was tragically run over
by a bus. Luckily he survived and is currently recovering in the Mallorca resort
of Magalluf. Just incase it happens again I have included a bus safety picture
for him to read and learn.
