Sydney Party Saturday
19th FebruaryArizona's Bar and
Restaurant
After all
the organising and planning I had done as well as the constant
worrying if I had chosen a venue most of you would like.
It was time for the spectacle that was Sydney's BIGPOND chat party!
Sydney playing host to chatters from Melb, Adelaide, Brisbane
and as far away as Perth and New Zealand and a surpries return
from the USA. Armed with labels, texta and an appetite to party,
I arrived at Arizonas to see the venue filled with around 300
people attending the Desperate & Dateless Ball. I panicked
and wondered how all of us (chatters) were going to fit in there,
but Jason of the Arizona reassured me they would all be gone by
8pm when our party was to begin. And sure enough they were,,,
PHEW !!!!
I saw some
familiar faces in the Restaurant and began the task of branding
them with a name tag. The next two hours i spent introducing
people and handing out more labels. We ended up using over
200 tags and when they ran out just wrote on each other with black
texta. The night was full of friends from the net meeting each
other for the first time as well as seeing some old and familiar
faces, that are always regulars to the parties we organise.
We estimate the number of people that attended to be around 135
give or take a few LOL. One of my main reasons for choosing the
Arizona to be our venue for the years first chat party was the
dance floor. As every party before had never had a dance floor
and everyone seemed to seperate around midnight or soon after.
I didnt want that to happen this time, I hoped we could all be
together until the late hours of the morning.
The ArizonaDJ
(Steve) promised me the music would be popular and we could all
make any requests we wanted. Popular was an understatement!!!
The music started and we hit the floor, shaking our tusshies all
over the place and generally having a ball to what I was told
was contemporary music LOL. Is that what they call it these
days? As the night went on, the party got more interesting (if
thats possible) I dont think I have laughed so much and come to
think of it, drank that much either in ages. And I certainly
wasnt the only one. Jdcoke and Hippiechick were armed with cameras
to get some great shots ( well i call them black mail shots)of
us all having loads of fun.
Everyone
mingled and got on great. The thing I always find at each
party is the warmth and friendship you feel with people you haven't
met before. The atmosphere is fantastic!!! It's like
youv'e known some of these people for years. For those of
you that couldn't attend, the next party im already planning will
be in late May early June. So try your hardest to make it,
you wont regret it and you'll make some great new friends. Thanks
again to everyone that was able to join in the fun there and help
to make it the night it was to remember, it was great meeting
more of you and I cant wait to party hard again in a few months
time.
