When life has shown you no mercy,
And realities close in on you.
When your world comes crashing round,
It leaves you faltering, not knowing what to do.

You have to make certain decisions in your life,
Some quite painful, to be sure.
You depend upon the advice of true friends,
You know? The ones whose hearts are pure..

After you have suffered in silence,
You turn to your tried and true.
The ones that pull you deep inside,
Their only concern is to protect you.

I have drawn from these angels,
So many times, just like now.
They helped me to pick up the pieces,
My sorrow they will never allow.

Oh, yes, I could name their names,
Calling them off one by one.
But to bring them the recognition like this,
They would never admit all they had done.

They know who they are,
And exactly what they mean to me.
They come to me from all over the world,
And stay with me as long as need be.

You have to live in this old world,
In doing so, take the good with the bad.
There are those who would seek to destroy you,
Using everything that they had.

But those are the ones to be pitied,
Too much time on there hands, I suppose.
I much prefer the enjoyment of living each day,
With my true friends, and their little x's and o's.

You know who you are....
