| Slumber, ahh..sweet slumber, Give me rest, peace of mind. Allow me to escape, draw me in, Leaving my woes, my fears behind.. I yearn for a distant land, Far from the life I have known. One from which I can begin anew, Starting a life too long postponed.. Only in your grasp at night, When my eyes flutter closed. Do I find the peace I seek, My deepest desires become exposed.. Falling asleep, drifting deeper, Light as a feather I float.. All of my thoughts from this very day, Become faint, almost remote.. The void of night envelopes me, Caressing me, soothing my brow. Relieving me of sorrows and plight, Such a tranquil state right now.. In our slumber, we can experience, Escape from the day to day grind. If only through our eyes closed tight, Can we leave all our cares behind.. Only in my dreams at night, When at long last I go to sleep. A refugee to a safe haven am I, No more tears, no need to weep.. Reality hurts, it can be so cruel, Dreams are our mystical ride..
