Darkness envelopes me, Void of any light. Comforting me, soothing me, Sounds of silence, late at night..
Midnight, my closest friend, Welcoming me at the close of the day. I sit and absorb my thoughts and explore, My heart..my soul..and what they have to say.
I seem to breathe easier it seems, When darkness is surrounding me. I find answers that my soul is seeking, I close my eyes that I may see.
This is my time, I am free to ponder, Questions that demand an answer. I must allow my soul this allotted time, Lest it fester as with cancer.
Dark..cold..empty..bleak, The night comes to my rescue. Quiet..serene..peaceful..deep, Essential to allow my soul to renew....
