Christmas time..a magical time,
When we allow ourselves to pause.
Festive foods, as families gather,
Children waiting for Santa Clause.

Gifts we open, memories made,
Reunion of spirit and mind.
Reflecting back on Christmas's past,
Times together as we unwind.

The Christmas tree, though it stands alone,
The lights blinking without end.
Each branch holding a link to the past,
Memories held by a metal clip suspend.

The presents have all been unwrapped,
Children all safe and asleep.
I slip on my housecoat and old terry shoes,
Out to the front porch I creep.

Silent Night, Holy Night,
Peace has blanketed the Earth.
Not a sound is made, none I can hear,
As the world celebrates His birth.

I am humbled by this tranquil feeling,
Long after all the excitement has died away.
My own tradition each and every year,
This magic on the Eve of Christmas Day..

I slip back inside, quiet as can be,
And settle comfortably into my chair.
The lights mesmerize me as they twinkle in sync,
A momentary repreive from any despair...

From My Home To Yours
Happy Holidays!!!!
