1) One Paragrah summary of the key topic of the Week

This week we went over "What is morality?" and the different ways that moral issues are presented to us everyday. I have come to the conclusion that moral issues are surrounding us al the time from books to movies from tales to music.  Moral issues are all around us and they cnnot go unnoticed.  We went over lynching photography in Americ, which is full of moral issues and I must ask the question- How could human beings do this to other human beings?  It seems that someone should have stepped in and stopped this horrendous deed from occuring.  We talkedabout Carlin's euphemisms and how they conceal the truth, as well as the right speech experiment which showed us how our speech is full os lies and therefore not morally acceptable.  We tehn went over how tales and songs are full of moral issues, such as the "Cat's in the Cradle" song which dealt with a father who never had time for his kids and therefore his kids never had time for him as they grew older.  We realize that our actions directly affect our lives and the lives of others.  All of these examples show us how moral issues are all around us.  Right now there is also a lesson to learn in ours lives because the teenage years are the years in which we begin to develop our own morals by our choices and actions.  We can learn from these examples as well as the ones we did in class.  Many times we fall off the moral band wagon if you will and we need a kick in the right place to get us onto the band wagon.  Many exmaples are shown before us and we must use these to help us in our moral journey.
2) List and explain three of the most important ideas that you want to remember from this week

a)Euphemsims- "I don't like words that hide the truth, I don't like words that conceal reality."  Carlin's comedy routine speaks to me becuase I feel the same way about many things
b)Lynching Photography- THis to me is a very mowerful presentation because I couldn't believe why someone would do this to another group of people. It was appauling to think that this happened up until sixty years ago.
c) Cat's in the Cradle- I think that this song speaks to me. I feel very guilty because my little brother continues to ask me to play with him but I always tell him I will but later.  I feel bad about this and will learn from my mistakes

4)Why are people mean to other people?

5)I think that my lying has gotten out of control and that is something I really need to work on. THe right speech experiment was an eye opener for me and something that really got me thinking of my values and morals.
