Ranma ½ Hello, Goodbye Chapter II: Encounters A fanfiction based on Ranma ½ by Kris Thompson Edited with Microsoft Word This is a work of fiction based on Rumiko Takahashi's 'Ranma Nibun no Ichi' a.k.a. Ranma ½ and was created for the author's personal enjoyment. Notice: This story is slightly on the 'lime' side, which suggests at sexual behavior, but it is not explicit. If this sort of stuff bothers you, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER! You have been warned. ____________________________ The following night, Ranma made his way over to Akane's house. He had tried to call her before, but she wouldn't pick up. So, he had decided to drop by. He walked up the walkway and rang the doorbell and waited. A car whizzed by on the street and he turned to look. The door to Akane's home opened and Ranma turned suddenly. Akane leaned against the door, her posture odd. "Akane?" he asked, unsure of what to say. "Do you... want to come in?" she asked, her speech slightly off, as if she had been drinking. He hesitated for a moment. "Um... I suppose..." He entered and shut the door. "I was wondering if-" he turned to find her no where in the living room. "Akane?" No answer. He walked about the house, peering into what looked to be a study, not finding her. A noise in a room off to the back of the house caught his attention. He walked back towards where he had heard the noise he passed several rooms and began to pass another when he saw her. She was sitting on the floor in what he assumed was her bedroom. He took a step and stopped. She didn't seem herself tonight. "Akane?" "You... needed something?" she asked, not turning to look at him. He turned his back to her then. It would be easier to talk to her this way. "Uh, yeah. About last night, with Mousse and everything. He kinda makes things up occasionally and-" he stopped when he felt something small and warm lean against his back, a pair of arms wrapping themselves around his chest. He was surprised and yet, strangely elated. "Akane?" She shushed him, her face pressed against his back, her heartbeat beating at almost the same trip-hammer speed as his own. "Don't say anything, Ranma." She turned him around to face her. Her button up dress shirt was undone, showing her still satin-bra covered breasts. Ranma had to stifle a gasp when she pulled him to her and began to kiss his neck, pulling him back with her, taking small steps. "Akane, what... what's wrong?" he asked, swallowing. She continued to kiss his neck. "Nothing... nothing is... wrong..." she breathed between kisses. Suddenly, she stopped and sat down on her bed, but her hands held onto his shirt. She pulled him down with her, kissing his lips with a hungry passion, and he returned her kisses with the same passion. She moaned softly as his lips left hers and went to space between her breasts and gently kissed the area where her breast bone was. He went from there and trailed kisses up to her neck, kissing the hollow of her neck, her jaw line and back to her lips. It was then that the entirety of what they were doing hit him and he rolled off of her and jumped up from the bed and made his way across the room, leaving her still lying on the bed. She sat up and looked at him, an expression of hurt on her face. "What's wrong?" He looked out the window, trying to sort his thoughts. "I can't do this now." "You didn't seem to think that a few moments ago," she said, touching where he had kissed her neck. "Is it something I did? Or said?" He sighed and turned to look at her. Her face had never looked so sad, so disappointed. He walked over to her and sat on the edge of the bed. "No, it's nothing you've said or done. It has nothing to do with you." "Then why did you stop," she asked, looking at her fingers. "It's just that... I think you're not quite sure of what you're doing right now, that's all." he said. Anger replaced sadness. "What?! I know perfectly well what I'm doing!" she said, standing up on her bed and stumbled, partly because of how much she had drank and the fact that a mattress is not the most sturdy thing on the earth to stand on. Before she fell and cracked her head open on the hardwood floor, Ranma caught her in his arms, and pulled her to him reflexively, protectively. It was then that Akane burst into tears. Ranma held her as she cried. "Akane, what's wrong? Why are you acting this way?" he asked as she still clung to him. "I don't know," she sobbed. "It's just... everything!" He didn't say anymore, just held her, let her cry into his chest. He rested his head on top of hers, attempting to comfort her. After a while, she stopped crying and gently pushed away from him. "I'm sorry, about all of this." she said soberly. "None of this should have happened. I'm sorry that I've involved you with all of this." she said, wiping her eyes. "It's okay, Akane. Are you going to be okay?" he asked her. "I'll be fine. I always am." she said, a forced smile on her visage. "You'd better go. It's getting late and everything..." "Yeah, it is. Um... I'll talk to you later, I suppose." he said. "Okay," she said, absentmindedly. And with that, he left. ____________________________ Shampoo had barely sat down at her desk when Akane walked into the office. "Akane?" Her friend looked... well, to be honest, she looked horrible. Akane had bags under her eyes and her hair looked a bit mused. **Ranma comes to tell Shampoo something that Mousse wanted her to know (Mousse is busy at his workplace) and Ranma bumps into Akane. Akane, who remembers last night vaguely, apologizes again and Ranma says that it is okay and asks her if she'd like to go dancing some night, just the two of them. She says that she'd love to and we get to chapter three from there. We don't show the club scene, basically because I'm too tired to mess with it at the moment. ** ____________________________ Author's Notes: Not much to this chapter, or many of the others after either.
