WORK OF ART
Deep in the corner of every heart
Is a poem, or story or a song to write.
In some it is latent and buried so deep
That it is hard to stir it from it's sleep.
To others these things flow like streams
Rushing to seas and places yet unknown,
Tumbling from both their heart and pen
And other ideas build up in their dreams.
Fingers unable to keep up with each thought
As they rush to break forth as if from a prison.
They have some visions and ideas to share,
A story that they long to tell, a song to sing,
A picture on canvas that has to be caught.
So search deep into your heart and soul,
Find that special story that you have to tell.
Look for a way to fulfill an empty dream,
Hold a pen or paint brush, then reach for a goal.
No one but close ones may ever see your work of art,
But it is yours, it may be a letter penned with love,
Or just a simple verse on a birthday, or Christmas card.
But it is of you, given with love from a precious heart.
