IS LIFE FAIR?
Some of us live this life with
the wind at our back,
Others struggle all their days
in tumultuous seas.
Some have good strong friends
who keep them on track.
Others are hurt and wounded
time and time again.
Soft spoken gentle folk, sweet
tempered and in control
Often get down trodden, by blustering
folks who are crude.
Yet in this world it seems unfair
with every punch they roll
And raise your head again to
the buffetings of earthly men.
We all need a second chance
or maybe a third or more.
Who are we to judge, and batter
and defame a name
Before we know them well! Should
we kick whilst on the floor?
Or raise them with a kindly
smile? Be an example to us all.
I've been given a second chance,
been kicked when down,
I have felt a arm, an arm of
love and a cold shoulder and frown.
Would we ignore a helpless man
as he sunk the third time to drown?
Yet without a thought this is
done to God's children all around.
Do we listen to gossip and judge
a soul without a fair chance?
Do we play judge and jury and
condemn without a trial?
This country is free thank God,
a country to grow and enhance
All those who wish to improve,
not a place to kill and crush a soul.
