DON'T TURN YOUR HEAD
Some of you turn your head away, others just stare,
We are not so different to anyone else out there.
Some are tongue tied, so never say a word,
Others use the third person, which seems absurd.
Yet if they were to treat us all equal, everyone the same,
They would not hurt our feelings, no one held to blame,
If they made a blunder, and say something wrong,
It is better than the cruel silence which is so strong.
Do not see the differences, look for the things we share,
Or have in common, and soon you will be aware
That there are no disabilities, just challenges to overcome,
And show me a person on the earth who has none.
So do not turn away at the sight that hurts your eyes,
Look with the heart and see someone that is wise,
And take us into your loving heart, your love share
With someone who needs it most, show that you care.
