DEAR CHILD
Did you only know fear and pain?
Scared to try and lift your
head again!
Did you ever see the world outside?
Or were you forced to cringe
and hide?
Did you ever know a loving touch?
A kind word that would mean
so much,
No, you were forever in a living
hell
Like a poor neglected animal
in a cell!
I wish I could have found you,
Put my loving arms around you,
Let you know what love is about,
Not in the hands of a cruel
lout.
But now sweet child you are
free
From pain, in God’s arms you’ll
be.
Know the touch of the Father’s
love
No one can hurt you there up
above.
