Appreciation
When you see the first spring flower after winter's snow and ice,
When you see a shining rainbow after a long thunder storm,
When you see the first bright star shine on a cloudy night.
It makes you appreciate things and you know the world's alright.
When you are feeling better after a long illness full of hurt and
pain,
When you have seen a loved one suffer then see him smile again,
When the trials of life have got you down then things begin to
change
It makes you feel so good inside and makes our lives all worthwhile.
When I think of some other folk's lives with their lack of love
and caring,
When I see a bullied or neglected child, with pleading eyes begging,
When I see the folly of wasted time with hate and lack of understanding
It makes me pray and thank my God for our special love that is
everlasting.
I will try and live my life to show the gratitude that dwells within
my heart,
I will try not to moan when things go wrong. For then good is better
in part,
I will try to see the first flower in spring and to look for the
rainbow bright,
I will try to see the first star that is shining even on the most
cloudy night,
For as I see all the good things that are sent from our God in
heaven above,
I hope that I may realize that through our lives we need, some
clouds,
Some storms and winter's cruel grasp to help us see more clearly
the crowds
Of summer flowers in the woods or meadow green, or a small star
so bright.
But this I know, because of you I see the rainbow after a terrible
storm
Because of you I see the bright stars shine even when thick clouds
form,
It's Because of you I see the first spring flower that grows hidden
by a stone
For without you my darling this path I tread would be so very sad
and lone.
Yet, if by some cruel fate one of us is left to tread the path,
alone again to meet.
It would no be by choice of mine, but I would pretend you were
in your seat
Or walking by my side, to see the rainbow in the sky and the flowers
bright,
See the stars that shine, and knowing we will be together, makes
everything alright.
