ADVERSITY
Do not let the trials in life
Make you stumble and fall,
But let them help you grow,
So you may overcome all.
For adversity, as you know,
Can be one of two things,
Stumbling block or stepping stone,
It's up to you what it brings.
It's patience and good thoughts,
With a kind and loving heart,
Smiling in the face of trials
That will set you apart.
When adversity knocks real loud
Uninvited at the door of your life,
Think of the growth and blessings
That come through trouble and strife.
Every time you're knocked down,
Every time you're hit in the face,
Pick yourself up and thank God
For the trails of the human race.
For our growth cannot come
When the pathway is clear
And the going soft and smooth,
Or when there's no danger near.
Growth comes when we struggle
Through trials of every kind.
So try to thank a kind God
For the adversity that you find.
