Step 1: In your styles palette, set your foreground color to null and your background color to #808080. Open up a new image, transparent background, 500w x 300h. (I always start big.) |

Step 2: Go to your text tool, select a fat font and type in whatever tickles your fancy. For the Signboard font I set my text size to 50. Choose the floating option. For the next several steps, you need to keep the text floating. If you need to move your text to center it, just use the mover tool. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Step 3: Go to Effects, Texture Effects, Fur and use the settings as shown below. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Step 4: Go to Effects, Texture Effects, Sandstone. In the presets drop down menu, look for mfa_roughstone and click ok. |

Step 5: Go to Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel. In presets drop down menu, look for mfa_roughstone and click ok. You can now either promote your text to a new layer or de-float it. I added a drop shadow to make it stand out on these pages a little better. |
