Timecop 2:The Berlin Decision (2003) Cast:Jason Scott Lee, Thomas Ian Griffith, John Beck,Mary Page Keller Jason Scott Lee stars as Ryan Chan a "Time Cop" who protects time from a group of terrorists who want to go back in time and kill Adolf Hitler, of course this could cause a ripple effect in time and furthermore destroy the world. I didn't care for the original Timecop but this sequel doesn't even have the verve of it's predecessor. Jason Scott Lee is a fairly talented actor, no doubt about it but for some reason his career hit speed bumps, despite the fact that The Jungle Book was pretty good and Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story certainly had it's moments but with Timecop 2 there just isn't anything here to enjoy, it's too bland and the story is far too stupid to take seriously. Some of the actionscenes here do hold the attention for minutes at a time, Lee and Griffith have always been good on-screen fighters but half of the time the story gets in the way of the action and unfortunately that's what makes it so boring. The problem is that they took the movie far too seriously and sadly that's what leads to it' lousiness. If it had been done with a tounge in cheek this could've been a lot more fun, at least much more fun than what we have here. Timecop 2 ranks as a complete disappointment. D.Steve Boyum*1/2 |
