| Stone Cold (1991) Cast:Brian Bosworth,Lance Henriksen,William Forsythe Bosworth stars as a cop who goes undercover in a biker gang and then singlehandedly wipes them out in this fun biker thriller which at times is so demented and over the top that it becomes downright enjoyable. Stone Cold is a lot more fun then it has any right to be. Bosworth in a role tailer made for Dolph Lundgren is awful in the role but the real fun is provided by the villains played by Forsythe and Henriksen who are far more convincing than what would expect. Indeed Stone Cold is the prime example of the type of goofy action flick that they just don't make today and considering the overall fun factor of Stone Cold, this is a shame. Of course there are some moments where the movie's pacing is off and Bosworth is a liability but I'd be lying if I didn't qualify this as a guilty pleasure. Plus the climax in particular is so over the top that as noted, an entire bench of supreme court judges are shot down. Only in the early 90s could something so un-P.C get made and now that this is on DVD, life is good. D.Craig R. Baxley *** |
