The Perfect Weapon (1991) Cast:Jeff Speakman,John Dye,Mako,Beau Starr,Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa,James Hong Speakman plays a construction worker who probes the death of his beloved mentor, While keeping his brother cop away from the Korean gangsters. The Perfect Weapon is at times slow-moving yet the actionscenes are well chereographed and are plentiful. If anything The Perfect Weapon suffers a lot from heavy-handed acting, and cliched dialog, however the leaden acting is overshadowed by actionscenes that still hold up well today, which keeps tedium at bay, and Jeff Speakman is quite impressive, with his swift moves. No, Jeff Speakman may not be as exciting to watch as Steven Seagal but The Perfect Weapon isn't too shabby and is really quite enjoyable if not very memorable. Definitely worth a look for junkies of the genre... D.Mark DiSalle *** |
