Nowhere To Run (1993) Cast:Jean-Claude Van Damme,Rosanna Arquette,Kieren Culkin Van Damme plays a convict who escapes from jail and helps a widow from greedy bankers in this predictable and lame Van Damme vehicle.. Not one of his best to say the least. Van Damme seems more relaxed here but the acting is only as good as the script permits, I'm not sure why Van Damme chose such a cornball story, but the actionscenes are pretty good and the movie isn't as painful as some critics have said, admittedly though this isn't a good movie in any way. First of all the dialogue is just atrocious, Arquette and her kids have a conversation about Van Damme's penis and just other bad dialogue. However Culkin is probally one of the best child actors, since he is surprisingly not obnoxious and is likable, however it's Van Damme who sets this movie's tone. Bland, and that's what this movie is.D.Robert Harmon** |
