| Mercenary For Justice (2006) Cast:Steven Seagal, Luke Goss Steven Seagal stars as John Seeger a mercenary who is forced to break into a prison and bring back the son of a wealthy terrorist along the way not everything is as it seems (It never is) and Seeger finds himself also doublecrossed no matter what he does in what is Seagal's most enjoyable actioner in years. Indeed the greatest tagline ever is for this movie, it says something along the lines of "John Seeger is an expert...AT KICKING ASS!" of course this sets the tone for the movie and basically it's one long action sequence with no real plot or story to speak of. However this is why the movie is enjoyable, it's unpretentious and delivers the overall wallop that most straight to video actioners fail to deliver. However in the case of Seagal, he appears to be in decent form and actually does akidio without (*Gasp*)stunt doubles and even does his own dubbing. Wow! It's a stretch to say that this compares to Seagal's glory days but I for one found this effort not too shabby at all. It has lots of action and basically works as a guilty pleasure bodycount actioner. Still the main flaws are what plauge all of Seagal's films, he's still somewhat overweight and his hero never gets in too deep but for fans of this once enjoyable actionstar, Mercenary For Justice works as in the ear out the other entertainment.
