| Lock Up (1989) Cast:Sylvester Stallone,Donald Sutherland,Tom Sizemore,John Amos,Sonny Landham In 1989 Stallone made two prison movies, Tango and Cash and this one, although both of the movies are similar in plot structure and are littered with cliches, however the good one was Tango and Cash because that had some tounge in cheek humor and some energetic action sequences, Lock Up unfortunately does not, and makes the mistake of taking it self too seriously, making this a silly and fairly dull "boys behind bars saga" Sutherland is one dimensional and Stallone mumbles making it hard for us to even hear what he's saying, the rest of the cast don't leave much impression, and Lock Up is instantly forgettable, and lethargic. The deadly dull pace doesn't help matter either. While not Stallone's worst, one truly should consider themself fortunate for not seeing Lock Up, I for one would.. D.John Flynn * |
