| First Blood (1982) Cast:Sylvester Stallone,Richard Crenna,Brian Dennehy,David Caruso A truly exciting breakout in a police station is worth the price of admission as Stallone is forced to use his military training against a group of sadistic cops who use excessive force for no reason, lots of suspense and action through out make this one of the best in the genre. Followed by a decent sequel as well as a truly wretched sequel (Rambo III), First Blood remains a landmark movie that introduced us to Rambo. Filled with excellent action sequences and good acting , First Blood works mainly because it moves so fast and delivers a good amount of suspense. First Blood is considered by many to be a classic and rightfully so, First Blood really opened up a new genre to the action loving public and even though this premise has been recycled over and over again, the bottomline is that First Blood ranks as one of greatest acheivements of the bodycount genre..D.Ted Kotcheff ***1/2 |
