| The Expert (1996) Cast:Jeff Speakman,JimVarney,James Brolin,Elizabeth Gracen,Michael Shaner,Michelle Nagy,Alex Datcher Jeff Speakman stars as John Lomax a SWAT officer who breaks into the prison to kill the man who killed his sister in that the warden is turning his death penalty sentence into a stay at an asylum where he will get out to kill again after he's declared "sane" again in this somewhat heavy handed yet interesting thriller. The Expert would normally qualify as a two and a half star movie but due to the fact of Shaner's startling performance as the psycho I had to give it a three star rating, because the key to a great movie is a wonderful villian and this performance in particular is good. Speakman doesn't say much but he gets the job done when it comes to the actionscenes as they are indeed well put together and overall the movie's story is quite captivating and therefore it's quite enjoyable, Which is why The Expert is indeed one of Speakman's better movies.
