| Excessive Force (1992) Cast:Thomas Ian Griffith,Lance Henriksen,James Earl Jones,Tony Todd,Charlette Lewis,Burt Young Sub- standard action movie is just another cop movie which has Griffith dealing with his corrupt superior played by Lance Henriksen. James Earl Jones is wasted as a father figure to Griffith's characater. Pretty stale stuff. Excessive Force lacks the fresh element to set it part from thousands of films of the same caliber.In order to be a sucsessful actioner you need at least dash and spirit in your action scenes. Being derivative can usually make for a mildly diverting movie but they don't work when every cliche in the book of B.movies is repeated over and over so it covers no new ground.
