| Epicenter (2002) Cast:Gary Daniels, Traci Lords, Jeff Fahey Gary Daniels and Traci Lords star as two soldiers who must join forces to survive an earthquake as well as hired killers. Epicenter while derivative and somewhat silly works mainly because it moves fast and has a lot of action, although surprisingly Daniels' martial arts ability is rarely showcased. Epicenter is one of Daniels' better efforts, this being a PM effort is why, PM is a movie company that finds ways to put in a big actionscene every 5 minutes, Riot and Rage are both efforts from PM and are also up there with his best work, that being said the flaws that plauge PM's efforts are also on display, mainly weak plots and scripts that often don't make sense as well as contrived plot angles, still for action fans Epicenter works due to some admittedly suspenseful actionscenes. Although Daniels relies on guns more then his martial artistry. Overall though as far as B.movies go, Epicenter is an overall decent effort.D.Richard Pepin *** |
