Class Of 1999 II:The Substitute (1994)

Cast:Sasha Mitchell,Nick Cassavates

Uninspired sequel finds Mitchell as a government trained cyborg who goes beserk and kills in this sub-standard, predictable and braindead caper.

The movie follows a  mundane pattern which is so by the numbers that any sense of imagination is missing plus the movie contains so many sex scenes they  ad nauseum normally this would be forgivable but   none of the action is all that exciting or suspenseful, it's just a matter of lame shootouts and cheap special fx, and the twist at the end you can see a mile away. Indeed it's sad to see such a great series relegated to such emptyhanded actionfare such as this sorry excuse of a sequel.

What is so disappointing about this particular actioner is that Sasha Mitchell actually delivers a good performance that is likable as much as it is perfect for the type of role played here, stupid plot twist aside (Which doesn't make sense) Mitchell actually comes off well and is certainly the best thing about this lame sequel. In a movie filled with such horrible stereotypes and unlikable characters watching Sasha Mitchell go around and waste the cast is a pleasure, because if anything this is a root for the bad guy actioner. Sasha Mitchell's decent performance aside this is really weak stuff. D.Spiro Razotos
