A Bullet In The Head (1990) Cast:Tony Leung,Jacky Cheung,Waise Lee Three Hong Kong friends leave town to go to Vietnam after they accidently kill a rival, they at first think that nothing could happen to them there, but along the way they find themselves captured and tortured by the Viet Cong in this exceptional drama. A Bullet In The Head is a powerful movie because the drama is believable, savage and very realistic, it takes no prisoners and pulls no punches, basicly this is as raw as war movies get. Surprisingly of all of John Woo's HK films, this is one that doesn't get as much recognition as it should. I would pair this one with A Better Tomorrow as Woo's best work, because Woo develops a very captivating story that is as much suspenseful as it is funny, sad and powerful. It's simply remarkable on how at some points in the movie it becomes so intense that it makes The Deer Hunter seem like The Three Stooges at times. War movie fans will get more than they bargained for, with action scenes (Especially the ones in the prison camp) that will give even the most jaded a jolt. This is certainly one of Woo's best.
