The Big Fall (1996)

Cast:C.Thomas Howell,Sophie Ward, Jeff Kober

The Big Fall stars Howell as a private eye who is financed to probe the disappearance of a woman's brother who may or may not be still alive, Howell ends up getting involved with adrenaline junkies as well as the mob in this silly actioner which features a woeful performance from Howell as well as lethargic plot threads.

To tell you the truth, I enjoy C. Thomas Howell's screen presence. Keep in mind he isn't exactly the best actor out there, but let us say that Howell indeed is a charismatic lead, unfortunately it was roles like these that often undermine the man's talent.
The Big Fall is indeed a bad movie. It has bland plot angles and none of the actors are believable in their roles.  Howell is best used as the strong silent type, any other way is just a horrible mistake.  Howell at least does an okay job as director, but a lot of the time this is pretty tedious stuff.

Plus the title doesn't really have any context with anything in the movie. For C. Thomas Howell fans only, and even they will be disappointed with this recycled mess. D.C.Thomas Howell
