| Batman and Robin (1997) Cast:Arnold Schwarzenegger,George Clooney,Chris O'Donnell, Uma Thurman,Alicia Silverstone Batman and Robin now take on Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane to save gotham city, oh yeah Batgirl joins the group and everything that the first tried so hard to avoid being, is proudly displayed here. It's just awful. Batman and Robin was the 4th movie in the franchise and is known to be the one that pissed it all away. To be fair it's not all of Schumacher's fault, afterall John Woo would have trouble with some of the wretched ideas here. (Batman and Robin on ice skates? When did our favorite heroes turn into figure skaters), who although shares a great part of the blame, this movie was D.O.A when it was greenlighted. It's just horrible. Also what is horrible is the acting, the special FX and the lame one liners("The Bat-card, don't leave the cave without it") which furthermore condemns what little hope one might have with this awful sequel. Kids won't even enjoy it because Batman and Robin is really unwatchable. Hopefully they make a better sequel and restore the overall dark mood and just keep the screenwriters and Joel Schumacher far away. It's just an embarrassment! D.Joel Schumacher 1/2* |
