| Automatic (1994) Cast:Olivier Gruner,Daphne Ashbrook,John Glover Olivier Gruner stars as J269 a android who accidently kills a man who was raping a woman, now the President of the company (Glover) sends in a team of mercenaries to take out the cyborg and the woman in this lively Terminator knock off. Automatic is stylish, fast paced and well made making it worth a look for anyone looking for a decent genre outing, although flawed the movie moves along well and the suspenseful actionscenes are plentiful, those disappointed in Nemesis, will find this to be really enjoyable. Gruner gives his best performance to date as an Android (Hey if you can't act like a human play an android) and the movie has a dark atmosphere that adds to the tension, really the only flaw in this movie is that the ending kinda stinks and some of the plot's good ideas aren't as explored as one would hope, such as a hilarious commercial, but overall Automatic furnishes enough fun along the way.*** |
